Just shut the damn thing down and let AA, Nok & Bangkok airways take over. 

To even attempt a rehab is ridiculous as it hasn't made a profit in years.   imo 

Who even flew with Thai Pre covid ? Overpriced old aircrafts with sour faced stewardesses who think they are above the clientele . 

In one report I read, Bloomberg maybe, the cumulative losses over the past few years has totalled around 10 BILLION U.S. dollars...how is that even possible during a period of unprecedented boom in tourist and business travel to Thailand over the past decade? All airlines are having a very tough time now during Covid but it's no surprise Thai Airways was one of the first to fall out of the sky. It's a shame that mismanagement, union intransigence, and corruption have laid low what was once one of Asia's premier airlines.

I guess there would be no funds for maintenance when they take to the air again......  alarming.

They are still paying leases for the planes, parking fees, taxes, some salaries, some maintenance...as well, flying passengers doesn't bring in any serious money, even if the plane is full. 

 

I was with Air Canada for 10 years and the profit margin per passenger was around 3 cents a flown mile. To put it clearly, if a passenger flew 2300 miles (3700 km) which is from Bangkok to Seoul, the airline would make a profit of about $70 off of that passenger. So that's what, about 2000 baht?

 

Cargo is where airlines make their serious profit. 

 

It's easy to understand how the airlines are losing so much. Thai is a <deleted> airline anyway. let it die.

No auditor (as long as they are not Thai) will sign off on their accounts.
