TAT expects big jump in tourism earnings in September

Currently, foreign tourist are not allowed to enter Thailand, and those who are allowed (people with work permit, etc.) must show proof of insurance covering up to US$100,000 and are required to stay in one of the most expensive hotels in Thailand to quarantine for 14 days at their own expense (cheapest being just under US$1,000/15 day stay). I can see these policies remaining in place even after this Covid <deleted> is finished. If so, what's left of the Thai tourism industry is doomed, as foreign tourism will not return for a long time.

  • Does anyone still believe foreign tourism is only 9% of Thai GDP? And not 20-30% or more?

Is this TAT bunch really needed until there is some actual tourism besides the

domestic stuff happening?  School is back so parents only have a 2 day weekend at

best to travel, and if they have any spare money, it will not be much.

The Fairy tale Assoction of Thailand could be the new name of TAT if

they insist on spreading fake news.

If its credit they are using then the household debt just goes up as they may not be able to repay the bank for that great weekend they had on someone else's dime. When will these morons stop with the tourist figures and increase in money from domestic tourism as saving the country.  What a bunch of buffoons.

A little twist of this, some of my Thai sons' buddies have had there hours cut by 70%, one guy in this group is married 2 young kids, has a mortgage, still many years to pay it off, also has car loan; both haven't been paid for several months, has negotiated to pay off school fess, books etc. This buddy comes in and announces he's taking advantage of the great discounts, vouchers etc., for a holiday in another province.

????

Lies, damned lies and TAT.

All employees must be blessed with a good imagination; a sunny disposition and an aversion to the truth.

Yep, it´s like trying to build a house, so they carry bricks from here to there, then from there to here and then back to there . . .

And then being surprised, why the house isn´t finished yet ????

Well, at least it saves jobs for now, and gives you the warm feeling of having done something, anything.
