Chonburi: Rumors that two men died from Covid-19 unfounded, authorities assure public

Chonburi: Rumors that two men died from Covid-19 unfounded, authorities assure public

A doctor told a press conference that rumors that two men had died in a Chonburi hospital from coronavirus were not true.

The two men had died from pneumonia and relatives were aware of the situation, said Dr Apirat Katanyutanon.

Dr Apirat said that patient/doctor privilege constrained what information he could give but he assured the public that it was 100% non-Covid-19 related.

The men had, for example, had had no contact with anyone with the disease such as at quarantine facilities.

In addition a rumor that one of the men had just come back from Japan was groundless. He had been to Japan but that was last year well before Japan had recorded their first case of coronavirus.

The "experts" keep telling us of the possibility of asymptomatic cases being possible, which would explain why they are so strong about everyone still wearing masks.

If so, they cannot categorically say they had no contact with anyone with the disease ?

If not, WHY do they keep banging on about everyone having to wear masks ?

If they weren't tested we'll never know.

How convenient.

Keep distancing and mask up!

Because sooner or later there will be the first confirmed case, and whether people follow measures or not may be the difference in how quickly infections spread.

Difficult times for the conspiracy theorists.
“Covid doesn’t exist, it’s just the governments and media trying to control us.”

”Covid exists and the government is covering it up.”

Cover up & wear masks; cover up and pin it on pneumonia.

'authorities assure public' that must be today's oxymoron.

Doesn't say they were tested for COVID anywhere along the process, either while they were alive or after they died...

Even though, AFAIK, patients presenting with pneumonia symptoms are supposed to be tested for COVID under the government's own protocols.

PS - Wonder if they might have been treated in isolated facilities while in the hospital... purely for pneumonia, of course...

No Covid-19 deaths, insists Chonburi public health chief

Chonburi’s Public Health chief confirmed that the two recent deaths had been caused by pneumonia as initially diagnosed, not Covid-19.

Dr Apirat Katanyutanon, chief of Public Health in Chonburi, made this announcement on Sunday (August 16) after the two pneumonia-related deaths sparked fears.

He said it has been verified that the two patients had indeed died from pneumonia and that the relatives have been informed.

He also said these cases were not related to the state quarantine facility in Chonburi province.

“The Public Health Ministry requires that all pneumonia patients be tested for Covid-19 and kept isolated from others. I confirm again there have been no Covid-19 related deaths,” Apirat said.

News stories of foreigners being air lifted to Bangkok from 'the islands' as early as January, confirmed as not having COVID.

But if you look into the story a little deeper and explore certain facebook accounts related to the cases in question it has been suggested that this may have been far from the truth.

I question the reliability of the available tests back in January as well, this was very new at that point so a misdiagnosis would not be completely unexpected in those circumstances.

political reasons

political reasons

Authoritarian regimes always need success stories for their propaganda. It took some time for the Thai government to realise this, but mid of May they identified the Covid crises as a wonderful propaganda tool to present their populace that they can handle a crisis better than democracies. Part of the game is the permanent creation of panic, paranoia and xenophobia among the people. And then, they presented to the people how "good" they act. Thailand number 1!

Given the fact that during the last 6 years every single sentence coming fro those in power was a lie, it is quite clear how "true" the official Covid numbers in Thailand really are.

They're those born under the sign of Taurus who suffer with haemorrhoids.

This is a very political statement that says nothing.

The Health Ministry requires something. But not a hint of whether that's actually been done.

To put things to rest, statement should instead be: "As per requirements of the Public Health Ministry that all pneumonia patients get tested for COVID-19 and kept isolated from others, the 2 patients in question were tested and found to be negative in the tests. I can therefore confirm there have been no COVID-19 related deaths."

In the US 173,716 died also from pneumonia.

The U.S. has about 50,000 deaths annually from regular pneumonia... The official stat for 170,000+ CV deaths thus far is more than 3 times that annual amount already and growing. Those CV deaths are above and beyond the normal pneumonia deaths for the most part.

https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/pneumonia.htm

And the current official 170,000+ figure of CV deaths is likely an undercount in and of itself.

The True Coronavirus Toll in the U.S. Has Already Surpassed 200,000

Across the United States, at least 200,000 more people have died than usual since March, according to a New York Times analysis of estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This is about 60,000 higher than the number of deaths that have been directly linked to the coronavirus.

As the pandemic has moved south and west from its epicenter in New York City, so have the unusual patterns in deaths from all causes. That suggests that the official death counts may be substantially underestimating the overall effects of the virus, as people die from the virus as well as by other causes linked to the pandemic.

It is very rare and unusual for someone in a hot country to die in the summer season of pneumonia. Normally, pneumonia occurs in the winter in cold countries. Also, if it is caught early, a person can recover.

Those bodies need to be tested for covid-10 by WHO, the Thai authorities can't be trusted in this case.
