No you aren't the only one to notice this, and HTF can Italy be on the list when it's cases were off the charts yet NZ doesn't even make the list. Don't know how any credible news outlet can print such divel. Oops, sorry, forgot the nation isn't credible.

If it's that safe then why hasn't the UK taken Thailand off its list of countries that require a 14 day quarantine to enter the UK?

It seems the UK still thinks Thailand is a high risk country if they are insisting on 14 days quarantine if you want to enter UK coming from Thailand. ????

ahahahaha, yes with NO INBOUND FLIGHTS for normal tourists, 14 days STATE QUARANTINE

This has got to be the dumbest headline in years. You know what tourist destination is even safer? The planet Mars. They haven’t had a tourist die there ever! How about restricting the list to places that actually permit tourists in the first place? Sheesh!

Safest country, Yet you don't mind kicking out a few hundred thousand people to

cop the virus somewhere else as long as its not here.

Well but all this will not make tourists choose Thailand as their next holiday.

In fact me for example I love Thailand over every other country in the world and own a condo and a brand new motorbike there but will spend my next autumn vacation of 3 months in Mexico for the simple fact that I am not allowed in to Thailand. So it can be as safe as it wants but that will not make their situation better if they keep their door shut.

Clearly it's  for vitual tours. To give the experience an 'I was there' feeling you have to buy real insurance cover and check into a Thai owned hotel in your home country for two weeks quarantine at your own expense and spend sixteen hours a day viewing videos of LOS on the Internet.????

I wouldn't be listening to the UK as regards COVID-19 advice. They are a shambles.

They don't test so they don't know.

 

Maybe if they change then name of traffic to covid the numbers are probably more accurate.

I have not read the article just the headlines “ worlds safest place for tourists “ how can this be the case when due to regulations tourists cannot get here . Who the hell comes up with all this verbal diarrhoea

Safest in the world from Covid 19 but the chances of being killed on the road is a good 70% if not higher 

The study is almost right, but as many people have pointed out the getting there and the getting back make for a good part of your holiday, so having been a long time frequent visitor to Thailand I am now going to Greece. Nice and covid free on the islands, where you are welcomed for the income you bring and I can spend my 2 weeks browsing ancient monuments and culture with the same entry fee as anyone else without being locked up in a hotel prison and constantly giving samples to someone in a space suit.

I swear if the folks on Thaivisa were told the government was giving them 20,000 a month for being Expats they would shout  "Why not 40,000?"   Is there any topic in the history of this site that got a happy bunch of replies?

 

Thailand is no tourist destination amid covid-19.

This is like saying that the safest car is your bed at home.

Absolutely pointless statement. i guess they have to try everything, so not sure I blame them. Every country is struggling with covid and the affects on the economy. If they open the borders for tourism they would soon lose the safest badge, and of course people will not travel Internationally for this year or next I think.. The only thing that will change this is a vaccine, other then that it will run it's course to 2 or 3 years. 

 

I don't see Thailand ever making a decision to "balance" it's economy and manage living with the virus because they have spent so long trying to impress "we are the best at locking down and controlling this". For Thailand to suddenly change tact would be a complete u turn and Thailand can never loose face, better for the poorer people in the community to starve.

It's just a subtle way of winding up would-be tourists who are stuck in their plague-pit homelands. By the time they reopen the borders next year, there'll be a tidal wave of visitors desperate to come at all costs, lol.

Come to Mars, we are ranked No.1 in tourism due to NO covid outbreaks, no deaths or infections..........and no testing !!!

It seems the favorite hobby of Thaivisa and its forum farang; post a positive article about Thailand just for the purpose of trashing it and make the usual degrading and cynical remarks...

Why stay in Thailand? Laos and Vietnam are just a short busride away....Stay there and enjoy the fun there. 

Must be safe as they are not allowing tourists in.
