A man wielding a knife entered a 7-Eleven branch in Soi 62 in the Phrakhanong area of the capital last night.

A male staffer called Krittin, 20, said that he was on duty alone behind the till when a thin man parked a Honda Wave outside and came in threatening him with a knife. The robber was wearing a full face helmet.

He handed over 5,000 baht from the till and the assailant also took a bottle of foreign spirits and a bottle of Thai spirits worth 2,500 baht collectively.

He then fled on the bike that had the engine still running.

Capt Winai Inthornchit of the Phrakhanong police told the media at the time that he suspected the thief was either from Bang Na or Klong Toei. He hoped CCTV would help crack the case.

So it proved.

By this morning the police had their man who said he had borrowed his aunt's motorcycle to commit the robbery.

He was arrested at his room in Klong Toei.

His excuse was that he was drunk. He is now being interviewed by the Phrakhanong police.
