600 facing quarantine after Thailand’s first locally-acquired COVID infection for 100 days

 

 

Almost 600 people have been found to have been in close physical contact with a COVID-19 infected DJ, with 78 of them classified being in the “high risk” group, as Thailand recorded four new COVID-19 cases today (Friday), including the first locally transmitted infection in over 3 months.

 

According to the CCSA, that infection is of a 37-year old Thai man, working as a DJ, who tested positive for COVID-19 on September 2nd as he was remanded in custody in the rehabilitation centre of Bangkok Special Prison.

 

Health officials have traced the DJ’s movements back to August 12th and found 589 low risk contacts and 78 at the high risk level. 34 others are pending investigation.

A good question indeed.

Is the Virus among us at  all times, and this guy was only found to be Positive due to a Policy of testing all people who are about to enter Prison.

Or, has he been in contact with a " Super Spreader " who is still walking the Streets completely unaware that they are the source.

Or, is the Virus in the Sewage system of Bangkok

All these possibilities, and more need to be investigated, and quickly.

I suppose we will now see how good the Thai Authorities really are at dealing with these situations. With 600 people having to enter State Quarantine, this will be a good practice session for the return of Tourists.

Alcohol ban. We definitely need an alcohol ban. And whole body hazmat suits for everybody. Lock it down until at least 2058. Gotta get back to zero, naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

After all that's a pretty good news that the virus was still spreading in the country.

Untill now, EVERY countries that have reached their peak of the epidemia have still some cases but close to zero deaths. End of the story for Thailand ????

This guy has been arrested and put in jail.

Or is it just a good timing from the junta to release some positiv tests so them can use this to stop the big student demontrasion that are planed in Bangkok number 19 this month , after all this junta dont like anybody that stand up and speak against them and if 20.000 or more will show up its not going to be easy to jail them all after. Yinn do you realy belive that Thailand have almost 0 Covid19 , its all over the world but not in Thailand ?

"he was remanded in custody". Poor choice of words used only for under arrest, or is that the new term for someone ill with COVID that need hospitalization here in Thailand?

 

Make you think twice if you want to report a potential exposure. 

Are 600 people really going to go into quarantine?

Everyone can test positive because the test doesn’t detect any virus.  It’s chromosome 8 and some artifacts they think are the result of “infection “.   It’s all nonsense.  It’s a casedemic not an epidemic.

Only if they can pay.....

One of the first things you have to know is what type of test did they use.  There are basically 2 types.  Those that test for antibodies and those that test for the actual virus.  If it was an antibody test he could of been exposed to the virus some time ago but not currently have it.
