Not sure why you have recommended I apply for an OA long stay visa if travel to Thailand is not available ATM ? Is it because its relatively cheap and I'd be good to go when borders open ? It was just a suggestion as an option when it will possible to enter here without any restriction or if they allow retirees to enter the country by getting a certificate of entry. At this time you cannot apply for any visa unless you qualify for a certificate of entry. 54 minutes ago, AussisAussieAussieOiOiOi said: Also, I've searched but cant seem to find a reliable place/thread I can follow to keep a finger on the pulse of when borders may reopen and what the requirements of qualifying for a certificate of entry in the interim. You just need to keep an eye on the news and topics on this forum. There is no dedicated topic for that info. This page on the embassy website has info about who qualifies for a certificate of entry and the procedure to apply. https://canberra.thaiembassy.org/application-for-certificate-of-entry-coe-for-non-thai-nationals/
Mike Teavee
At the moment you can only enter Thailand if you're working here or are married to a Thai but it's rumoured that Thailand Elite members will be in the next tranche of people who can enter so if you're keen to do it as quickly as possible & are happy to spend 500K for 5 years or 1 Million for 20 years then that's probably your best bet. No need for agents or anything, Thailand Elite do it all for you https://www.thailandelite.com/?locate=en
