I snorted coffee down the nostrils again.  He hasn't got it yet.  Pattaya Transport is in the middle of something similar to the Bermuda Triangle.  There is a peculiar electric force field that prevents all meters on taxis from working; all Pattaya traffic officers from working; the only exception to the non-working ideal are the fly-tippers assisting in the deterioration of the environment.

'Bermuda Triangle' Isn't that quite a thin strip? I knew a girl with one.

Those in power can outlaw gasoline baht buses. 

 

The wealthy Thai elite can then buy electric baht buses with no competition from cheaper gasoline baht buses.  People may have to wait longer for a ride than in the past, so service delivery is down.

 

The price to ride will then be raised to 20 baht, or more, to ride.  

 

Somchai, with his traditional baht bus, goes broke.  

 

Just more of those in power looking after their own interests, or their friends or family, with everyone else suffering, on way or another.

If i am not wrong the bathbus drivers in Pattaya

don't own the vehicle, they just rent it to the structure owning the fleet

that's why they are all the same type of vehicles, with just the number

printed  on the door being different.

 

They could easily get ride of the oldest ones (The vehicle, not the driver lol)

and replace them by electrics 

Anyway even in normal time, there are far too much of them on the road

 

However i don't know if the structure is a public one, linked to the city hall

or a private corporation. Maybe someone has the answer?

I believe the baht bus collective is 100% private......Some of the baht buses are owned by the driver some baht buses the drivers rent daily......

They operate like taxis Day shift 12 hours Night shift 12 hours.....

Electric would not add one shred of value to anyone except to those selling the electric baht buses.......Everyone else would pay and pay and pay.....

If the officials only had half a brain they would have introduced an  electric tram system years ago. You go down Soi Bukhaow now when no one around and the only thing holding up the traffic is the songtaew driver crawling along beeping his horn

Years and years ago some bright spark came up with electric tuk tuks. Today there are how many electric tuk tuks in Thailand?

There's too many of them. I'd change the numbers to about 50% of current numbers ( pre corona ).

(I’ve never called them “baht busses” like some foreigners do. Even after my first four months in Thailand, I only heard them called “songthaews” so that’s what I called them. The first I heard them called “baht busses” was here on Thai Visa... and at first I was wondering what the heck is a “baht bus” and how come I’ve never seen one? LOL ????)

Perhaps even removing all the signs from the sidewalks on Buakhao so pedestrians could walk on them. Didn't they turn the pedestrian crossing lights off because no one stopped for them?

She wasn't Thai then.  It's why razor blades are so expensive here.

A thin strip of plaster (or duct tape) to cover the area to be preserved. Depilatory cream over the remainder.

The problem is there is no sidewalk at all in the most part of soi Bukkaho

if they want create one all along  they need to turn the street in a one way

traffic, should be possible but the sidewalk will be immediatly invaded and

occupied by the usual suspects, foodcarts, motorbike rental, signs and so on
