April 28, 200719 yr I am here on an annually renewed retirement visa. I am 56 and married to a Thai lady. Can I own/run a business or does this require me to change visa type? Cheers for any assistance. Huw
April 28, 200719 yr It will be up to your luck in getting a work permit issued on a retirement extension of stay - within the last six months or so this has happened but not sure if it is happening everywhere or just selected places.
April 28, 200719 yr If you local labour office does not want to give you a work permit based on your extension for retirement, you do not have to change your visa status. Simply apply for your next annual extension of stay for the reason of living with your Thai wife, instead of retirement, if you can meet the criteria for this type of extension, ie average monthly family income of minimum 40k. -------------- Maestro The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
