Cambodia’s property boom continues despite pandemic

Featured Replies

Cambodia’s property sector continues to silence the naysayers with projects continuously being launched and prices remaining steady. The Kingdom of Cambodia is a consistent performer in residential property, with interest from an increasing number of investors from mainland China, Hong Kong and the people of Cambodia, largely in the capital Phnom Penh.

Having harnessed the attention of residential investors for at least the last three years, Cambodia’s construction boom continues without any signs of dwindling.

Even with the supply chain disruptions caused by COVID-19, real estate services firm CBRE still projects a 34 percent increase in condominium supply this year (down from the 55 percent earlier forecast for 2020). Building and selling are two different things!

Just look at Pattaya...

Many buildings have very few tenants.  It’s almost all Chinese, as few Cambodians can afford these overpriced condos.

Chinese will build, then get the laws relaxed, and move their people in.

Once they control the economy, they own the place.
