Biden campaign tees up Trump tax issue on eve of first debate

Joe should flashed his tax returns which he released publicly in July 2019 and mock Trump on the Bidens $1.5 million in federal income taxes in 2016 and $3.7 million in 2017. That amounts to thousands of times more than in federal income taxes than Trump on similar years despite the President being far more wealthy (alleged). Humiliate him in front of millions of viewers. Time to turn the cart around for his countless times he insulted others.

  • How coincidental that the illegal leak of Trump's tax information is released just days before the 1st presidential debate.  Almost as if they had nothing going into the debate and sorely needed somet

  • Yes, the timing is coincidental. However the facts are real, and this is politics. And are you claiming the Republicans play fair?

Biden is not the great orator that Obama is, but I hope he goes for the jugular with Trump and tears into him.

Or simply offer Trump a "big fat $750 check" and thank him for the sacrifice he consented - twice

They need to be cautious. Are the facts straight? or did he pay many millions in Fed taxes?  he could really make them look stupid if they are not inch perfect. I have no idea who is telling the truth and nor do you but be sure Trump will fight.

Be cautious. Those are income taxes what about the other taxes which, Trump claims, he paid millions?  Biden's income is different than Trumps and, ergo, calculated differently.

This concept  is lost on the masses, who have a very low level understanding of basic tax or business knowledge.  Imagine trying to explain this concept to a rioting mob, it would be futile.  Makes for good headlines to stir up the minimum wage crowd.   LOL  ????

Based on the number of lies told by trump since he started defiling the office of the president I do have an idea of who's telling the truth. Hint; it's not trump.

We've already had a non-denial denial from Trump's attorney about the taxes. Now Trump has switched from saying the reporting is fake to that the information was illegally obtained. Does that tell you anything?

Yes, as opposed to the generally well heeled and highly educated base trump supporters!:clap2:

And what facts might those be?  Nothing illegal about Trump's taxes have been proven to date.  So you have facts but proof of nothing.  Go ahead and pin your hopes on it.  Another "gotcha" moment.  How many of those have we had now?  Someone should be counting.

And I'm sure that you adopted the same fair-minded wait-and-see attitude when it came to allegations about Biden's activities in the Ukraine.

LOL.  How do you pay $1.5M and $3.7M in federal taxes as a public servant?  Cue the critics.

WHICH, by the way, a Republican committee found NO foul play in said activities. And I would bet my bottom dollar they REALLY tried to find dirt.

Firchrissake Biden has outside businesses. Just like 45 even though he claimed he would stop. Just one of over 20,000 lies from 45.

Lots of evidence there but no smoking gun.  I think the Bidens are obviously crooks but that's my opinion.  I don't go about speaking it as factual as is being done here regarding Trump's taxes.  See the difference?

I've seen that 20,000 figure for almost a year now.  If true then shouldn't it be around 30,000 or 40,000 by now?  Never seems to change.  And I've always thought it to be bogus in the first place.  Believe what you will.

Valiant efforts Tippaporn, but you know this is only going to get worse for Trump.

The press smell blood and they’ll be going through Trump’s tax and know financial dealings with a fine toothed comb.

Forensic Accounts doing what they do best.

Any response Trump makes is going to sit against what is discovered as the accountants and journalists do their thing.

It's all there in joebiden.com financial disclosures & tax returns. Fully revealed for public consumption. Enjoy and perhaps take time to introspect why Trump is pulling all the stops to conceal his tax returns.

Another "we got him now" moment for the left to seize on and pin their slivers of hope.

Well the timing is entirely down to Trump. He's had four years to honour his promise to reveal his taxes but he's chosen not to.

If that so, Trump should put up and reveal his tax returns that he paid millions in other forms or shut up. At the moment he chose to shut up which is showing guilt.

Yes, one could suspend reality and just believe what one wants. Exactly what trump's base has done.

You don't see any smoking guns regarding Trump?  Lots of official functions at his properties at great expense to taxpayers?  Banking with a notorious money laundering bank after all American banks wouldn't touch him?  Numerous out-of-court settlements and non-disclosure agreements?  And, of course, his fighting tooth and nail to keep his tax returns and other financial information private?

And the numerous contractors he has dudded with 6 bankruptcies. As far as smoking guns go, the coronavirus barrel is red hot. Worse than incompetence, deliberate looking away. Ask Bob Woodward.

What's Joe going to do w/out his teleprompter at the debate?

Poor Joe! LOL ????

If the Biden camp are smart they will have wound him up expecting the "tax" attack and hit him with something else.

Meh, you're usually better than this. Joe mumbles and gaffes, but if he lies he KNOWS he's lying. 45 just can't help himself, he's truly pathological.

What a crock of S**t.  Biden son gets $3.5 million from a Russian mayor but somehow the issue is how much Trump paid in taxes.  Let me clue you in.  NO ONE ESCAPES PAYING LEGITIMATE TAXES IN THE USA.  If Trump enterprises lost money in prior years, it is legitimately allowed to deduct from any earnings the amount of the losses until such time as it makes a net profit.  Additionally if the Trump organization is structured as a C corporation, Trump would have income exclusively from any money the corporation paid to him as wages.  The corporation not Donald Trump would pay any income taxes.  So without knowing the entire story it is just trying to create the illusion that Donald Trump somehow did not pay taxes.  They did the same thing with Romney and saying he did not pay any income taxes.  Not true.  The IRS if Trump owed taxes would be all over him like a rabid dog.

Looks like the same old Democratic Smear tactic.  Claim something causing your opponent to try to defend it and have the media broadcast it to give it legs.

It seems Biden has plenty of hidden things too; many of which are being exposed.

Given Trump's propensity for attack, attack and attack, these debates will likely be exchanges of allegations and bitter comment. Low class politics.

"As IRS researchers highlighted in a recent report, is that the United States lost an average of nearly $400 billion per year in unpaid taxes from 2011 to 2013. Moreover, over the past decade, Congress has made the problem much worse. It has given the IRS new responsibilities while sharply cutting the agency’s budget. The IRS has lost more than one-third of its enforcement personnel."
