Advance COE/ Re Entry permit?

Assuming one still needs a COE to return to Thailand if already here and holding a re-entry permit, is there any way to arrange a COE in advance before leaving Thailand on a trip?

It depends upon what your extension is based upon.

I don't think it would be possible to arrange the certificate of entry before leaving the country.

Is there anything which has to be done in person?

If everything can be done by Email i don't see a reason why it shouldn't be possible to do beforehand

Some embassies want many things sent to them by mail. They do not do it entirely by email.

As far as I know a COE is only valid for 15 days and after that you have to re apply.
