FalangTingTong
Posting here because I didn't see it elsewhere on the forum. This is from the Longstay Facebook page which is TLMcompany. Note that it is what they "believe" and might well change; first Falang flight is apparently November 1st out of Copenhagen, to be preceded by a flight from Singapore. That sort of implies the list is ordered but who knows. Denmark Finland Norway Sweden The Netherlands Belgium Switzerland Austria I was a bit surprised to see Austria on the list but Germany not, since the former isn't obviously doing better than the latter virus-wise, and Belgium is an odd choice as they're doing quite a bit worse according to what I see on Worldometers. Given that Thai is (apparently) flying FRA BKK once a week in November I might guess that Germany will be on the second list. But that's just wishful speculation on my part. That pretty much covers the country of Scandinavia! Also as has been noted elsewhere it seems there is a bank-balance requirement for STV.
glegolo
The benelux-countries is also doing well on that "list" 2 out of three countries is quite good. glegolo
Popular Post allane
By the time first flight day arrives (for one of the European countries), most of them will be in lockdown, and people won't be able to get to their nearest airport, never mind to Thailand. You read it here first.

It will be interesting to see the reaction to this. How will a retiree living on a generous pension who takes a three month holiday to Thailand every winter but lacks a large bank balance pass this requirement? Popular Post holeinone
Residents from Austria will not be granted an STV: Quote Kindly note that, at present, travellers from Austria and Slovakia are not qualified for the STV as these two countries are classified by the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand as medium-risk areas (as of 15 September 2020). Source: https://thaiembassy.at/en/coe.html Since the Covid situation in Austria is getting worse, this will also not change in the near future.

It's a question of capacity to quarantine. It's not as simple as stating "there are plenty of empty hotels" Why do places such as Au have caps on numbers of Au citizens returning. Look at what happened in Melbourne. Thai have put in place conditions that can control numbers entering.

The point is that other visas have either a savings or income means test. This one seems to be based only on savings.

Popular Post Orient Express
The Netherlands and Belgium have some of the highest case rates in Europe (cases in last 14 days / 100,000 population) at 243.4 and 220.5 respectively (5th October data). The highest are Spain, Czechia and France - although France and the Netherlands are about the same. For comparison, the UK is "only" 163.1. Info for doing the application for a Certificate of Entry is here on the embassy website. http://www.thaiembassy.fr/fr/visa-rdv/reglementprise-de-rdv/
