Randomly several people who have gone back to "close the stamp" in Chiang Mai have been given until 30 December...

That is more than a little strange. It appears immigration started a 60 day extension on the 31st of this month instead of 30 days.

update : someone also had success at MTT

  • Yet another page used in the passport.   I am waiting for the gurners who can't get the extension they really need because their passport is already full of previous extensions that they did

Yikes, I hope these people do not assume Dec 30th is the correct date. I had the wrong date stamped in my passport a few times in Thailand the past several years. One time I got 90 days on a 30 day visa exempt entry at swampy.

Actually it seems enough people received this stamp where we can rule out it being an error (date incorrectly set on stamp). However, some people (in the same immigration offices) are getting the stamp dated until Dec. 30th while others are getting stamped until Nov 30th. Plus it only appears to be offered in two locations (Hua Hin and Chiang Mai). This is all very confusing, but yet so appropriate for Thailand, haha.
