The news circulating on several media outlets that the government is planning to issue land title deeds to local people in 50 provinces is true, the Digital Economy and Society Ministry has confirmed.

“The ministry’s Anti-Fake News Centre contacted the Ministry of Interior to verify this information and was told it is correct,” the ministry said on Sunday.

“The issuance of land title deeds of over 120,000 plots of land in 50 provinces aims to provide farming areas to local people to boost the local economy and reduce poverty, as well as strengthen national security in border areas, especially in the South.”

The project is now being studied by the National Economic and Social Development Council and is expected to be carried out within fiscal year 2021, the ministry added.

For more information, contact the Department of Lands, Ministry of Interior at www.dol.go.th or Tel. 02 1415555.

So those farmers who have been eking out a living on what later was determined to be on encroached land which they thought was there's will now be legal and not punished.  Well thats nice of the government to do.  Hopefully the MP bitch who had to vacate forest land she had taken illegally does not get a land deed. I think it is another type of Anesty they will use to keep her in office.

Will the 'issuance' be free of charge, or will there be some payment required?

How will it 'strengthen national security in border areas'?
