Visit Thailand but conditions apply: Tracking devices, set routes away from Thais and "Covid minders" mooted

One condition is the minder has to be your golf caddy and if you dont hit the fairway he is to ensure you don’t go retrieve your ball in case there’s a Thai in the rough.

  • Omg this is better than Benny Hill and Monty python ????????????

  • I think the biggest problem they might face is marshaling the huge queues of people desperate to get into Thailand on these terms.

This sound like a fun holiday, where do I sign up? Is it possible to get a female "Covid minder", preferably in her twenties?

And do not need to wonder why the new generation of Thai want all these regime and regime backing brain dead controlling people out. For the love and sake of Thailand they all need to go packing. This is just getting more absurd moronic and ridiculous every day.

But if they do, then the Immigration Police will be tasked with rounding up the strays.

These folks truly live in "La La Land."

You can't get into La La Land without 14 days quarantine and wearing a Covid Minder on your back.

They will have to stick to routes where other Thai people do not go. They must not veer off course at all.

*They will have to be followed around 24/7 by Covid minders to ensure they don't stray and are healthy

Tourists to North Korea are constantly followed about by government minders and not allowed to talk to locals or stray from set itineraries, we further note.

You think thats a vacation or a holiday. Sounds like a proposed reality television show we shall call:

"Visit Thailand and feel what the citizens of N. Korea live through everyday"

You just can not believe these guys are truly serious.  Let's just say it will be like Nazi controlled Germany.

I think now North Korea is a better choice.

I am afraid most of the world is finding the country unserious, without human respect and a little funny/stupid

Thats good news after a long time.

Please do post your holiday experience in North Korea after your visit.

This and the many TAT announcement daily are hilariously funny. However, on a serious side it shows distinctively how lacking those in Thailand lack creativity and critical thinking. It is fine in my eyes to be proud of your country but please wake up and smell the coffee. Tourism is in turmoil and coming up with these hair brain, idiotic ideas just embarrass the country.

If you don't have the growth mindset, buy it in.

A few hundred baht and your minder will lead you straight to the nearest fishbowl

I never forget the discussion about the entertainment industry. First they kept it closed because it was too dangerous to allow it. Then they opened it with a lot of restrictions. When I walk around in Central Pattaya I don't see a bar that cares about restrictions. Many even don't care about closing times. Perhaps it will end the same way with the tourism industry?

Can’t see this working

This is what happens when you let people buy their jobs and/or appoint them as a favour to their influential families.

Nobody in their life has ever said anything except 'yes sir' to them.

It's a cultural thing! Steeped in tradition, impossible to change! ????

Give me a break. Who would agree to this?

All joking aside, I worry that this is going to stir up more suspicion and hatred of foreigners. It won’t end well.

It’s just another hair braided scheme that will be history tomorrow, or until no one arrives.

Yes, I get that. I just hope this kind of stuff doesn’t appear in the Thai mainstream media.

Oh covid minders, didn't even notice that. Nice North Korean touch, of course tourists want them, they'll come in droves.

Another day,another thought bubble.

I wonder who they think is that desperate to visit Thailand  as to jump through all the hoops?

Old Chinese proverb: don’t do stupid things and you won’t end up in tragedy!!!

Or another way of saying this is: buyer beware !!!!

many of the people are starving, the glorious Prayut Chan-ocha doesn't want you dirty free thinking farangs in Thailand to mess things up for him, the military are thriving and the infrastructure improvements allow tanks to move faster to suppress the starving and keep the workers in the fields. All this visa garbage is just that, a distraction to keep the middle class quiet until he is ready to close down the country completely and confiscate anything that he wants (which you may have paid for). You are already in North Korea, you just haven't realised it yet. In the meantime the ministry of propaganda will keep churning out this nonsense and good old Thaivisa will keep on repeating the white noise. There may still be a place for them in the new Chailand after all ????

Look instead of this nonsense, just say you won't open until there is a vaccine and see how the thai people react. Cue the massive social unrest...

oh it will, this stuff is for domestic consumption, they want to be seen to be doing something, even if it's ridiculous, it keeps the people from complaining too much. this is all about internal domestic politics.
