marquess
Hi all, I usually get my cigars at the airport, but due to the current situation I now have to source them closer to home. Anyone know a good place in Bangkok at reasonable prices? I have in the past seen some outlets that were at least 3 times the price. I am looking for Flor de Cano which usually retails in Kingpower at 4k, or Romeo and Juliet. Thanks in advance.

moontang
There are two shops at Siam Paragon..the cheaper Phil's are in the tobacco area to the rear of the supermarket, and the outrageously expensive ones are up a flight of stairs kind of in a loft of the same supermarket...you don't have to cut through the market, but that food court can be harder to navigate than the store.. Google Siam-Havana... Edited October 14, 2020 by moontang

moontang
www.tabaqueria.com. You can get EMS from the Phil's. The slim panatellas they sell at the aforementioned shop are 10 THB, but now 60 or so at Siam. Edited October 14, 2020 by moontang
Popular Post TheAppletons
La Casa del Habano in the JW Marriott hotel lobby (near the restaurant.) In addition to monthly specials (usually 30% off a few select boxes), they have a "seconds" humidor that contains various cigars with cracked feet, torn wrapper, discolorations, etc. that they sell for 10-25% off the regular price. They also carry a lot of the more inexpensive Partagas, RyJ, and Upmann cigars (Mille Fluers, Super Partagas, etc.) for around 500 thb per cigar. You can probably negotiate a discount for buying a box. And yes, they carry La Flor de Cano also. (Opens at 11:00 am, closed 4-5 pm for lunch break.) Skip any suggestions to visit WhisGars. No Cuban cigars, poor selection/variety, just as overpriced - if not more so. Edited October 16, 2020 by TheAppletons 4
moontang
What became of Siam-Havana in the dusit thani? Isn't that hotel being rebuilt? Remember getting a pack of five partagas for 550 there..in 2005...it has gotten crazy since. Edited October 17, 2020 by moontang
Jeffr2
There's a cigar bar in the Ananatara Siam that is really nice. Great selection of cigars and whiskeys. Fantastic.

You say that it is in at the JW Marriott, a quick search say that it is the Havana Express that is at the Marriott and that the Casa Del Habano is at the Mandarin Oriental. ?? moontang
I would take apple's word for sure, but the shops were closing and opening well before China virus. I think sukhumvit grand millineum even had two shops.. And they would even escort you to the patio to give you a comfy place to enjoy.
marquess
Out of curiosity, has anyone ever managed to successfully order cigars online from overseas and have them arrive safely here? If so how much tax does one have to pay on them?
moontang
www.tabaqueria.com. I was 5 for 7..no taxes. Get the lighter packs instead of the boxes. They use EMS. Hong Kong is riskier, and much more expensive (and better Cubans). I bought a couple of panetelas at Siam paragon earlier for 69 each. Same ones from Tabaqueria. About four times more, though.

Popular Post camble
There’s a Davidoff cigar store in Gaysorn Plaza (2nd floor), also a cigar store at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit. The cigar store in the JW Marriott had closed last time I was there a couple months ago. 1
marquess
Shame about the cigar place at the Marriott, I was planning a visit. The Pacific Cigar Company gave me a quote for some Flor de Canos, the Selectos were nearly 5 times the price. The Petit Coronos were more reasonable. Does anyone know where else I can get Flor de Canos and what the prices are for a box of 25? Edited March 24, 2021 by marquess

RAZZELL
Never been in but seen it many times - they seem to be more into pipes and tobacco etc - located the Silom Centre right next to Saladaeng BTS. If I walk past today I will poke my head in and see what cigars they sell. https://thesessionbangkok.com/en/ RAZZ
moontang
I bought a box of Partagas Club minis at Narita duty free.. 2520 yen.. Used a good credit card and paid in JPY.. Otherwise they were only offering 106 JPY per usd.. I got 109.5652 from visa.. 23.00 USD for 20 minis.. Good value for Tokyo. Grrrreat cigars.. and you can smoke airside at Narita, unlike Ohare. Smoked 2 in NRT and one out front of ORD.. helped me a lot on my 10,000 mile trip. BTW, my last search in bkk, took me to Ruam Rudee soi 2, Ploen Chit.. to Pacific Cigar.. Perhaps, it was their main office, but looked like they had possibly done retail. Not sure, but the gate was locked at 11am Wednesday morning.. No one answered the bell. Anyone know about that location? Edited April 10, 2021 by moontang

More fool you. You pay a pittance compared to what they charge for tax at a authorised outlet. They don't hold the cigars anyway, the tax is thrown on and the cigars are held by the thai post. Ordered from Oz a bunch of times. They have no idea how much the cigars should be taxed and tend to just throw on a thousand bath fine. Next to nothing if you are ordering a decent stash of real cubans. Word to the wise. You want proper prices, order from abroad and have them sent under the radar. It's common sense....!!!
