Ubonjoe,can you please advise..

I am about to renew my non O retirement extension, next month.

I usually pay 3,800thb to get a multi entry, because i usually do lots of small trips to neighbouring countries.

This time,,sent that i wont be able to travel for many more months..i may just buy single entry visa..

What happens when borders open,if i make one trip out of thailand, then return, before the sinle entry expires??

There is no real difference between a single or multiple entry other than the number of entries each allow. Both are valid to the day your extension expires.

If you use it you can apply for another one or a multiple.

OP, do nothing regarding obtaining a single or multiple reentry permit.

Just obtain your 12 month extension.

If things change re borders etc and wish to exit Thailand then obtain your reentry permit. You can do that at immigration or airport. Perhaps some land borders.

At airport it's a 10-20 minute process.

You can apply for as many as you require. Single entry 1000baht. Multi 3800baht

All dated to your permission of stay date.
