Bangkok governor Pol Col Aswin Kwanmuang revealed that a big promotional event will be held on the final two days of this month to celebrate the remodelling of Khao San Road.

The general said that the BMA had been working with the TAT, Thai Beverage, Boon Rawd Brewery and the Khao San traders' association on the event called "Sawatdee Khao San".

This is under the umbrella of "The Modern Thainess" and is designed to promote tourism and the economy.

Many events will happen between 9 am and midnight on the 30th and 31st.

The event coincides with Halloween and among the highlights there will be a best costume contest on the 31st with 30,000 baht in prizes.

Strict Covid-19 measures will be in place.

All Thais and foreign tourists are invited.

ALL 39 Chinese tourists..???

Good idea to do this at Halloween as everyone will feel obliged to wear a mask . . . . ????

It looks quite a bit different from the Old Khao San Road.

From 2007.
