Góðan daginn! (Good Morning!)

I am at the moment on a Non-O Single Entry Visa based on having a Thai child. I have already made the extra 60 day extension, that gave me a permission to stay until, and will expire, 24th of November. As I understand they have crated a new kind of extension that goes for 60 days. My questions below:

Is there an extension for 60 days, and can I get that after having made a 60 day extension on a Non-O already?

Does the extension require a n embassy document?

If the extension does not exist. is there any other chance of extension except the regular 1 year extension?

You can apply for a 60 day extension that is now available. You will need to complete an affidavit with tick boxes for the reason you need the extension instead of needing a embassy letter.

Thank you ubonjoe, My reason is of course that I wish to stay with my child, and that I will also need some more time to season my funds. Do you by any chance know if that is a choice for reason or if I can give a free written choice of my own?

There is one you can tick and complete yourself.

Hi, when you apply for a 1-year extension of stay based on your Non Imm O Visa for reason of having Thai dependent child, there is NO need to season the funds.  You would only need to show that the required 400K are on your personal Thai bank-account (a joint one with your wife is not accepted) at the moment of application.

It is not 100% clear whether you can already use those funds during the 3-4 weeks 'under consideration' period, but you could of course ask your IO when doing the application.

Once you have the 1-year permission to stay stamp in your passport, you will be free to use the funds as you please.

Nah, thanks for the input, but that is not correct. Unless you think I will apply for a new Non-O inside Thailand? That was not what I wrote. I wrote that I already have a Non-0, have used my 90 days and also made a 60 day extension based on being a father of a Thai child.

In that case I will need to season the funds for 2 month before they will accept my application for a 1 year extension.

No.

There is no requirement to season the funds.

Why do you think that. There is requirement in the immigration order that the 400k baht has to be in the bank for any amount of time.

From clause 2.18 of immigration order 327/2557.

"(5) In the case of parents, the father or mother must maintain an average annual income of no less than Baht 40,000 per month throughout the year or must have deposited funds of no less than Baht 400,000 to cover expenses for one year."

You are mistaken.  There is NO need to season the 400K when applying for the 1-year extension of stay based on your original Non Imm O Visa for reason of Thai dependent child.  You just need to show that the funds are on your personal Thai bank-account at the moment of application.

Ok, sorry! Thanks for the guidance. Is that only regarding retirement extensions then?

The 2 months is required when applying for a extension based upon marriage. Not required for when applying based upon being the parent of a Thai.
