hello,

do you know why some people use an agent to get a 1 year extension for thai wife if they have the money in bank account and all the documents ?

Do you still need to go to immigration with agent ?

Do you still need to wait for a home visit ?

if yes, why using an agent ?

and if you have used one, can you tell me who at Pattaya ?

thanks

some are just too lazy to go to immigration, others maybe are not capable of getting all the required paperwork themselves

OP,  you will find not many agents do marriage extensions and they dont do any "helping to get around the requirements" like they do with retire extensions. (I have never found one in Pattaya)

Requirements vary from office to office, things like home visits, photos, kor ror 2 and head office approval etc, cant be done by an agent.

Most of the extra running around for a marriage extension is to show the marriage is real, wife is real, you live together etc etc. All things an agent cannot do.

There are no benefits using an agent for a marriage extension, as you wont find one, or you still do 90% of the work.

Especially if not all the requirements can be met, since they go to a second IO for approval.

Yes thats right. Most (if not all) wont touch marriage extensions, they literally cant., if they do it would just be a hand holding exercise while you do all the work, home visits etc.

I have seen some japanese who cant speak thai and english. Agents really can  help them. They just sit quietly next to the agent.

Do you sure they are agents? Could they not be simply be interpreters

I think that just about sums it up. Two questions for you O/P.

What nationality are you and would you be using 400k in the bank or the 40k monthly income method?

Some famous forum sponsor pretend to do it for 40000 Thb...

How stupid when a volunteer visa is the same price and you do not need any documents, just 2 photos...

Or do you know if we can apply in another province that is easier ? 1 night in a hotel and there we go ?

You have to apply for a one year extension at the designated office for the province where you living.

They want more proof of residence than staying in hotel overnight and having a TM30 for it.
