EEC adjusting investment in line with Biden’s 'green' strategy

The Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Office has announced it will adjust its five-year investment plan to adapt to the changing global situation.

 

The 2020-2024 plan for infrastructure and targeted industries will be revised in light of US president-elect Joe Biden’s strategy to promote eco-friendly businesses, said Kanit Sangsubhan, secretary-general of the EEC Policy Committee.

 

He added that the EEC will focus more on trade and investment collaboration with the US, as well as wooing foreign investment in new technologies such as 5G wireless broadband.

 

The office will also advise the government to join free trade agreements, in order to attract more overseas investment, Khanit said.

 

On Tuesday, the office held a meeting with state agencies on the 2022 EEC development plan, with a focus on human resource development, job creation, and investment promotion.

That is all you got? 5G?   

 

Then junta industrial park gets more uninteresting with each passing day.  I was looking at some industrial space near Bangkok.   It was rather inexpensive.   Not sure what makes the EEC so wonderful.   Oh, sorry, 5G

They are going to zone the country's industry there so it will mean the vast majority of those businesses will eventually have to be there. 

 

Aside from communications, there's also the infrastructure, proximity to ports, airports, rail link etc. and it starts to make sense.

There or Vietnam? Hmm, some how that just seems all wrong to support a military cash cow.   5G,  Don't most people still just text?  Backpackers video calling mom were the only people I saw who needed a fast connection.

Talk about running after a bandwagon passing far off in the distance!
