Requirments For Non Imm O Visa

Featured Replies

From reading through the forum it looks like I need to either be over 50 or have a Thai wife in order to apply for a 1 year non imm O visa. Is this true?

I'm under 50

From the UK

Not married but do support my thai g/f and her son

Have over 400k in my thai bank account

Recieve over 40k per month from the UK

What are my options?

Many Thanks in advance.

No harm in trying to get one to visit girlfriend , but the best you will probably get is a double or triple Tourist Visa.

With the new 180/90 day rule I'm keen on sorting out a Visa that will allow me to stay in the Kingdom all year round.

If I can't sort out a Non-Imm O visa, I then have 2 options:

To set up a company and get a Non Imm B visa or marry the missus!

Until your over age 50 (wish I was looking from that side) your best bet is probably a yearly visit home or to OZ and obtaining a multi entry non immigrant O visa from one of the smaller Consulates for visiting your Thai friends.

Since you don't need to work, it seems marriage is the least of two evils :o

good luck

Thanks for the responses.

Lopburi3 - Am I able to get a non imm O visa on the basis I have Thai friends? That means I don't need to marry? Also, why did you recommened heading back home or Oz to apply? Would I not be able to do this from Singapore or somewhere near Thailand? (Im in Thailand now and have no plans on heading home in the near future)

Many thanks!

The reason was you will not receive such a visa in the local area for that reason. They want to see a marriage certificate. With that and a bank account of 400k believe Singapore will issue; and perhaps KL even without the bank account. But they are about the only two in the area that will.

In the UK, easy from Hull without any "real" reason.

In SE Asia, single entry from Penang (and others), good for 60+30 days. Many of these nearby consulates and embassies are using outdated information and even when offered the latest details they refuse to acknowledge them.

Apparently marriage facilitates visas in KL and Singapore.

Thanks for the responses.

Oz or the UK are your only real options. You won't get over the line regionally without the marriage papers.
