Nate objects to probe of his decision to drop ‘Boss’ charge

An investigation of Nate Naksuk, the deputy attorney-general who dropped the final charge of reckless driving against Vorayuth "Boss" Yoovidhya, has been halted after Nate objected to the procedure.

The investigating panel invited Vicha Mahakun, head of an inquiry into the Boss case, and Khemchai Chutiwong, former deputy attorney general, to testify.

However, the legal procedure has been halted after Nate filed a letter to oppose the investigation, complaining that he was not informed of the interrogation in advance.

The Public Prosecutor Commission said it will consider Nate’s objection on November 30. Meanwhile the testimony of Vicha and Khemchai has been delayed.

Nate’s decision in June to drop the final charge against Vorayuth, heir to one of Thailand’s richest families, sparked public outrage and several official inquiries into the case.

The case resumed in September with Vorayuth indicted on two charges, of reckless driving causing death, and cocaine use. Vorayuth is accused of crashing his car into police officer Wichian Klanprasert in 2012, killing him.

  • Not too sure how many cases get halted because the person being investigated objects ! This must be one of those rules for the rich, and/or connected.

I object, without forewarning how can I create a plausible packet of lies and bribe people to support them.

I know the US govt is corrupt, but at least they have the decency to TRY to hide it. This Nate character is clearly being paid very well to cover this up further. This is disgusting. I hope the kids that got teargassed yesterday pull out the win.

Shameless, corrupt, lying, conniving, small minded, greedy, hypocritical, all really good words for describing Nate and most of his ilk, in fact it works for pretty much anybody in government or positions of authority in Thailand, they all appear to be morally deficient, should be surprised but I am not...

Objecting the procedure? ????????????

  • Popular Post

They just have to edit the investigations questioning.....no questions about payments from the family...no questions about accomplices, especially the RTP...no questions about Boss's location...n

Put it another way, outrage and disbelief has generated serious investigation as to why this man decided to drop the charges.

Therefore it would seem to be in his own best interests to fully cooperate with the investigation.

If he doesn't then surely he sets himself up for further criticism in several ways including his attitudes of being entitled to be maverick.

Must be a very knowledgeable judge... i though they overrule or sustain objections, not investigate... but well, i guess if he investigate for couple of years, case will be closed

If you look back at various cases involving the rich, hiso, well connected and political classes here, then it's standard practice.

Challenge the process, object, object and object to all and every procedure. Presumably hoping to buy enough time to somehow make the issue go away.

Oh they are just warming up . Nothing they won’t do to make things not their fault . Trying to get a Thai to admit they are wrong or done something wrong even if you showed them a video of it is almost impossible. They seriously think they have higher I.Q than anyone who questions them !
