Agreed but some reports on here stating they paid 3800

Some offices were incorrectly charging 3900 baht. That may of been sorted out by now.

It should be 1,900 baht. Some reported that they were charged 3,800 baht.

What is the current situation with this 60 day Covid extension in Chiang Mai at the immigration office near the airport?

Are they giving them out easily for 1900 baht, with no demands for anything else or questions, or are they making it difficult?

TIA.

Many reports are that they are not providing 60 day extension nor the "affidavit" that MTT provided.

CM is being non helpful

All visas and extensions of stay are 1,900 baht.

Only ME visas/ extensions are more pricey and cost 5,000 baht.

But they do not exist right now and will hopefully be back after the Chinese shutdown of many other countries.

Many people seem to have huge problems in CM, perhaps looking into another option, or going with a Sherpa.

Thankfully I can go for the annual extension, but would prefer not to go through all the hassle of it.

Is a Sherpa slang for an agent or something else?

I'm in CM but can't get to IO until Tues to find out. Hoping for some positive reports come Monday afternoon. I also have a agent looking into it who said they're report back Monday.

I think they gave 60 days extension those on amnesty last month giving them until Dec 30 (I'm assuming this but they did accidentally stamp Dec 30 in my passport before correcting it to Nov 30 - shame they caught that one). So I don't know why the change of heart this month.

That's wrong. All extensions cost 1900 THB.

Visas vary, if obtained in Thailand then 2000 THB, if obtained at an embassy or consulate, then usually the equivalent of 1000, 2000 or 5000 THB in the respective foreign currency.

No. You will need show a TM30 for where your currently staying and deal with office where you currently are

i don't understand.   Let's say I move to Chiang Mai tomorrow and rent an apartment for a month, whatever.  i then get a TM30 in Chiang Mai and go to immigration in Chiang Mai.  That's OK?

I just don't want to go back to the office in ANOTHER province where I gave them my embassy letter.

Yes that will be fine. Putting the lease aside. Wherever you "check in" you need make sure they will do a TM30 for you and they can provide you with printout of that.

Just added note. Many reports recently of CM not being helpful with extensions and offering 30 day. Some imm office providing 60 day extension. MTT one example. Where are you currently. Why not obtain extension where you are?

i just found out today i need to move in two days and the immigration office is about 2 hours north.  I've been there before and they are not the most helpful.  I'll (or a friend) will call them tomorrow and the other immigration place (i'll be there in two days) and I'll see what they say.

i'll ask my hotel tomorrow if they have a print out of the TM30.  they told me they contacted the police, etc...whatever.... who knows.   before i didn't give them any TM30, just a form, embassy letter, money, pictures, and they didn't even care if i had a receipt of my hotel.

ok thanks

Well i just got an under consideration stamp in Bangkok and got to go back in 2 weeks.

IO wasn't very that friendly telling me to go home and come back on a different visa and to talk to my embassy but when i asked what should i talk to them about she changed telling me about the government's good will and it can end any time ....

So anyone in Bangkok got an under consideration stamp trying to the 60 day (amnesty/covid) extension within the last week ?

Please report back.

I have a 60 day extension based on family, that was extended until Dec 30th.

If it is easy and painless to get a 60 Day Covid extension I will do that. If not I will go for the annual extension a few weeks before.
