Popular Post webfact
Thailand praised for banning electronic cigarettes, protect youth becoming nicotine addicts Picture: Bangkok Biz News A leading anti smoking expert in Thailand has praised the Thai authorities stance on stopping the sale and distribution of electronic cigarettes. Both he and a female doctor have pointed to an alarming rise in e-cigarette use among young people in the US. They say there is zero evidence that smoking e-cigs makes people smoke regular cigarettes less. It is in fact causing a rise in smoking and creating huge new numbers of nicotine addicts. Thailand should press on with banning the devices to protect the health of the public, they said. Dr Rerngrudee Pathanawanich of the medical science department of Ramathibodi Hospital in Bangkok said that studies showed that there was a big rise in e-cigarette use in the States among 18-24 year olds. And 56% of these were new smokers who had never tried regular cigarettes. And use of regular cigarettes was not down at all. A majority of electronic uses are smoking both, she said, a situation that is even worse for heart and lungs. She described as nonsense the idea put about by firms that e-cigarettes help you stop smoking. The reality is that they are creating new addicts especially among the young. Dr Prakit Watheesathakakij, who fronts an anti smoking group, agreed saying that the vaping firms targeted the young. He said the statistics from the States were alarming where more nicotine addicts were being created not less. He praised the Thai stance on banning import and distribution to stop Thailand's youth falling prey to e-cigarettes and nicotine addiction. He believes the ban should be continued. Thaivisa notes that while technically the use of e-cigarettes in the country is banned their use is relatively widespread with the devices for smoking and vaping fluid available in some markets and online. Popular Post Centrum
Paid shills for the Thai tobacco industry. Why aren't they pushing the wonderful Thai authorities for the ban on conventional cigarettes? From a personal perspective, I started with e-cigs 2 years ago and haven't had a tobacco cigarette once in that time. Anyone who wants to kick the habit should give vaping a go. 22

Popular Post Flying Saucage
I don't smoke, and I am not at all in the medical issues related to smoking. So please forgive me if my question is BS. But: Isn't the main health issue of conventional cigarettes the toxic, carcinogenic smoke with it's dangerous tar, which damages the lung and causes cancer, rather than the nicotine itself? And is not exactly this the point in which e-cigarettes are better than conventional cigarettes, providing a health benefit not only to the smoking person himself, but also to the whole society and it's health system? Popular Post paulbrow
I contribute being able to quit smoking after 52 years to ecigs. They got me over the habit. I can't say I know what's so bad about nicotine, but getting rid of the tar and other gunk improved my health tremendously and I was able to breath again. Finally could simply stop the ecigs. Think the hassle, there is hassle associated with them, made it easier to do. 4

Popular Post Anna Rak
The real reason they have banned E-cigs is the Gov don't know how to tax them and they make a lot of revenue from conventional cigarettes. So just more B.S. from this Junta. 5
Popular Post schondie
For 36 years I stank from smoking cigarettes and moved to vaping four years ago. My health has really improved and I know exactly what's in my juice as I make it myself. As I only smoked Apache Kretek cigs so I started out vaping 36mg juice and now I'm down to 2mg juice on the road to completely stopping. 4

CLW
BS government propaganda. Just because they can't make money from vapes because everything is imported. Vaping is much more healthier than smoking. And where is the evidence that it leads to more new and young smokers?

OK, be in denial if you wish, however even a very quick trawl on the internet will lead you to at least 10 different sites that say more or less the same thing. The point I'm making is that Dr. Pathanawanich is not just spouting nonsense. There is a lot of supportive evidence out there for his argument.
Popular Post Sambotte
I think they just copied what China does here. For vaping, i had a short experience in France. For me it does not remplace tobacco (and i smoke rolling tobacco)... But it can help. Good ganja would help more ???? Like everything in this world, i would appreciate some tolerance, not the opposite that grow with "ban this", "ban that", "for your safety", "for your health"... always against freedom ! Will they start to try to ban booze permanently tomorrow ? Here i guess most people would protest hm ? ???? Too many drinkers, can not ban ????

ukrules
The thing about those e-cigs is - you can get liquids without nicotine in them and if you didn't know then you likely wouldn't notice too much.
