There are many offices around the country that will accept a Yellow book and/or Pink Thai ID but, sadly, the Pattaya office isn't one of them. There you have to pay 500 baht at Jomtien to get a free 'proof of residence' letter.

 

Of course, you don't have go to your local office to renew your licence, you can go to one that does  accept a Yellow book and Pink Thai ID
