I never really liked bonds, it took me a long time to understand how the price and yield work, and how they affect each other. As I am in my thirties and only started investing 8 years ago, I tend to put everything in equity indices with dollar cost averaging, which worked out well for me so far.

Is it really worth investing anything in bond indices these days? Yields are so low, they can't really go any lower right?

The concept of near 0% bonds doesn't appeal to me, but interested to know if there are technical arguments for having them in the portfolio for someone who is not near retirement.

Sure, a small commitment.

Best to be diversified especially if you are young. Vanguard has some good bond fund options.

Some real estate and gold are also recommended for long term.

Also, good for you for starting your investment portfolio when you are young.

I did the same 35 years ago and it has worked out fantastically.

Good luck, be dedicated to your dollar cost and don't panic/ be patient on the down turns.
