N70 does not have GPS connectivitiy. Get the N95 - comes with one free Asian map loaded in the phone (depends on where you buy the phone) and you can download another 2 Asian maps from the CD which comes with the phone. Other maps can be purchased. N95 has WIFI capability and a 5 megapixel Carl Zeiss lens camera.

I was looking at the N95 but when I went to a Nokia center to inquire specifically about the GPS and maps they didn't have a clue. What Asian maps are available? I'm assuming Thailand is available. What about Laos? Are the maps good, high resolution maps? What about Cambodia? Do you have a N95 and are you happy with it? Do you use the GPS feature?

I bought mine in Singapore. The map included in the phone is Singapore. From the CD, I can download another 2 free maps. The maps in the CD are Singapore, Malaysia (Klang Valley), Thailand (Inner Bangkok), Vietnam (Hanoi and HCM), Indonesia (Jakarta) and Philippines (Manila). The camera and music player are very good - no need to bring along a separate camera and MP3 player for your trip. The package includes a 1 gig micro memory card (upgrade to 2 gig if you want), enough to store your photos and MP3s.

If you want the GPS to locate a road or landmark, you need not go online. But if you want to look for a route from and to a certain place, you need to go WIFI or GPRS. Have not used too much of the GPS feature in detail but when I use the Bangkok map, I can locate most landmarks and roads in the city.

Hope this is will be useful.

I need to buy a GPS bluetooth receiver, but not sure what software I need. I can buy the maps of Singapore and Hong Kong but map of Bangkok/Thailand is not available.

Right now I would see only one option for you: Garmin Mobile 10. If you buy this device here in Thailand should include the map from ESRI (Thailand only and basic map of the world). You can connect your mobile with the GPS via Bluetooth (whenever you buy it, ask the staff to install it for you). The Garmin’s webpage shows that your model (nokia n70) is compatible. Best regards,

you can try with "Tom-tom mobile". It is a good and accurate GPS SW .
