Hi does anyone know if the high financial requirements (bank statements - 500,000 baht for last few months) for special tourist visa are still required

I know they have been removed for SETV but how about STV. ...not many tourists will have that amount of savings

UK london embassy....i don't even think you can apply for STV yet, better wait a few weeks

The STV is still on the website and the financial requirement has changed (as below), nevertheless I suspect you have as much chance of getting one as going to the moon on a bicycle.

Special Tourist Visa (STV) : for stay up to 90 days with possible extension of 90 days twice)

  1. Your passport copy which must have validity at least 12 months with at least 3 blank pages
  2. Travel booking confirmation
  3. Proof of accommodation in Thailand for (1) ASQ hotel booking for 15-day quarantine with proof of payment, and (2) confirmed hotel booking/accommodation rental for the remaining period of your stay in Thailand, with proof of payment; or copy of condominium ownership or purchase agreement of condominium with proof of payment
  4. UK/Irish bank statements with sufficient fund to cover your trip to Thailand
  5. Confirmation of legal residence in the UK or Ireland (if applicants are not nationals of these countries) e.g. long stay visa, residence permit, BRP card
  6. Copy of health insurance policy which covers medical expenses in Thailand for outpatient not less than 40,000 Baht and for inpatient not less than 400,000 Baht, and COVID-19 related medical expenses no less than 100,000 USD for the whole period of your stay in Thailand --  Please check http://longstay.tgia.org> for more information regarding the insurance requirement.

500 K rule has been dropped.

Up to embassy it seems how much they want to see on your account.

Helsinki RTE has rule 6000 euros for last 6 months if you do not have your own condo. If you have you do not have to show anything..

You may have similar or different,,They should of cource make this clearer,,,

The STV was just recently allowed for those from every country. It does appear on the London embassy website.

The will want to see at least the equivalent 20k baht in the bank that is standard amount for all visas. Then you could show proof of your income such as a bank statement showing it.
