Don't want that the two opposing health theories - 'germ' v 'terrain' - should dominate this thread. But, we are where we are (Thailand mostly?), and there are many more sick farang here than there should be IMO. Let's have a brief butchers at two areas. Firstly; what makes us ill in the first place. And. Secondly; how best to ensure our bodies are best equipped to fight the good health fight when called upon to do so. So, why do we get ill? Essentially it the body becoming unbalanced. Out of kilter. How does it get in that unbalanced mode? Simple. Internal deficiencies. And/or external elements. Internal deficiencies --- we are of the earth, and we are what we eat, drink and breathe. We evolved (don't want to upset the bibilists here) to live alongside, and within, what we are; a part of nature. We need what nature has to offer to sustain ourselves. We get our nutrients from nature's bountiful larder. All the minerals, vitamins, proteins, carbs & fats that facilitate major, and subtle chemical bio-reactions, to maintain balance are available to us. Water; by far the most important of the intakes. We must drink enough and ensure that it is free from toxins. The air that we breathe, is to a certain extent beyond our control. We do have natural body remedies for all but the worst pollution however. External elements --- are so numerous and potentially dangerous, that it's a challenge knowing where to start. But let's boil it down to a handful of things. Eating bad food. Food that has no nutritious value and often loaded with undesirables. Dirty water; the biggest killer of people and animals down the centuries. Foul air. Modern medicines. 5G. Stress. Accidents. Some can be avoided. Others cannot. What then is this new approach? The title of this topic. In a nutshell itis to embrace nature and educate ourselves on what makes for a good life. Nutritious food. Clean water and air. A rethink of modern medicine. Unnecessary except in the most extreme instances (dagger in one's back). Avoiding modern medical interventions. Education on rest and exercise. The ability to deal with stress; that will surely come our way. Ah yes! A rethink on modern medicines. Yes! There are always root causes to an illness. The answer is to get to those root causes and address them. The answer is not going along to the doctor to get a bag full of pills. They will only suppress the symptoms that we went to see the medical expert in the first place. How cana rethink even get started? It needs to start at school. I would say that education children on health should start from 7/8 years. And not the 'coughs and sneezes spread diseases' trope either. Understanding nature is paramount. After all nature is us. We are nature. Let's discuss.
