Hello all,

I am currently on a medical extension visa obtained through an agent and is set to expire 12/25.  I am planning to go to immigration in hopes of a 60 day covid extension but have some concerns.  I am a US citizen, my embassy is no longer issuing letters to extend the stay.  I do however have an email from them stating so.  My additional concern is I am currently staying at an AirBNB and have no housing contract.  Is there any way around the housing registration requirement?  Will immigration frown on my current visa?  I am prepared to use the visa agent again but I would prefer to avoid the 26k baht fee.  Thanks in advance.

Have you checked around for a less expensive agent?

Somewhat but there are a lot of scams as we all know.  So without a referral I figured I would stick with the one I'm familiar with.

They should do a TM30 report for your stay at a AirBnb. Contact them about it. That and a receipt for it will satisfy immigration.

A letter from the embassy is not required for the 60 day extension. They will give you a affidavit to complete or you can download and print it out 2 sided here. 60 Day Covid 19 Extension Affidavit.pdf

Great advice, the AirBNB host was more than happy to accommodate me.  Immigration was not please with my medical visa and was told to return tomorrow (too close to closing time today I guess).  Fingers crossed.

It is up to the officers discretion.

They will either provide the 60 day extension, or simply send you back to the agent to assist you.

The agent should also be able to assist you with a 60 day extension as well (you can shop around).
