Non o visa extension

Featured Replies

Hi , I work offshore & I am currently  in Thailand  after 1 year away from my wife & Daughter  after quarantine  i am here for 4 weeks before returning  to work for 6 weeks in Denmark  ,

Can I extend my non o visa before I leave & also get a  rentry permit so I would only need to get COE before flying back again ( obviously  booking flight ,ASQ etc etc) as getting a new visa is a major hassle when offshore ie need passport to go offshore & not easy to post passport & get it back

Cheers

Hi  also forgot to mention im from uk

You can extend for 12 months but would get 30 days underconsideration so you would need to be in the country to re visit immigration.

It appears you will not have enough time to apply for a one year extension of stay based upon marriage due to the 30 under consideration period after you apply for it.

If you will only be here for a total of 4 weeks (around 28 days) you could get a single re-entry permit to keep the remainder of 90 day entry valid when your return. Then possibley applying for a 60 day extension to visit your wife and re-entry permit for it.

It works out that 6 weeks here then 6 weeks at work with reentry  permit would total 84 days so would make it by 6 days , How long would I get when flying back next time  ie how  long would I get stamped  in for  ?

You only be given a 6 day permit to stay in that case.

While here you could explain your situation to the immigration office and request a 60 day extension to visit your wife. Normally they would only do it near the end of your 90 day entry but they can do it earlier. The you could get a re-entry permit that would include the remainder of your 90 day entry and the 60 days.

Or talk to them about doing the one year extension application if you can have 400k baht in the bank for 2 months when you apply. The might be able to expedite the approval of the extension so you could get it before leaving and then apply for re-entry permit for it.

I have just checked my passport & my visa expires on the 23rd of feb which is the date im due off the vessel so won't be in thailand til the 25th at the earliest so reentry permit will be no good without an extension

Your visas expiration date means nothing now since you have already used it for entry to the country.

You re-entry permit will be for your permit to stay you have. A visa cannot be extended.

ok then my permit to stay expires 2 days before im due to return to thailand, i will obviously need to get an extension or a new visa if my understanding is correct ?

You will need an extension or a new visa.

It seem you need a total stay of about 8 weeks when you enter the country which is approximately 56 days when you include the quarantine

Instead of getting a new visa you could use a 30 day visa exempt entry now if you are from a country that qualifies for it. You can get a total stay of about 60 day by extending it for 30 days.  No need to apply for a visa if you could do that. You would only need to apply for a COE that can be done online.
