Thai economy recovering faster than predicted, but tourist arrivals worrying: BOT

My point being at the time all the depressionists were claiming nobody would go to Phuket again. It recovered in six months and got bigger. 
 

Thiusands died in on the west coast of Thailand that day. It recovered in six months and continued to grow. People got over that/ forget quickly.
There has been one death on the whole of the Thai west coast because of covid. 
 

It also recovered quickly after SARS, the Bali bombing. 
 

Phuket is the comeback king.

Whilst thousands died on the west coast that day, many thousands more died in Indonesia on the same day from the Tsunami, the majority of the world carried on as the tsunami didn't affect them.

The difference this time is that most of the world is suffering and the rest of the world is where the majority of the tourists that went to Phuket came from. International airlines kept flying and they don't now.

I am sure that Phuket will recover and NOW is the time to sort out and eradicate all the scams and corruption and not sweep it under the carpet and carry on like pre Covid.

To get Thai tourists to Phuket the government opened the 50/50 deal where the punters paid 50% and the government paid the other 50%. Actually the government didn't pay a satang as it used all taxpayers money which will have to be repaid with interest by (what a surprise) the taxpayers.
