Are you suggesting Thailand may become as bad say for example as the UK?

Evidence?

Did you see I used the word "may?"  It's not impossible.

What makes you think it can't?  Evidence?

Yes, i saw the word 'may' thanks.

It's not impossible correct, did you see me using the word 'impossible'?

What makes me think it can't, well.

1. There's hardly any people arriving and they have a pretty robust quarantine system ( except from the people sneak in from Myanmar ) which is the complete opposite of most of the countries with high cases who've never shut borders.

2. The warm climate which MR Covid does apparently not like.

Why do you think the numbers could match that of these high case countries, just your dull perception of life?

They don't have to "arrive."  The virus is already here.

Slows the spread. Doesn't stop the spread.

The question is, why couldn't it?

Thailand has not done anything different to the countries that have high cases.  Eg. closed borders and lock downs.  These have been common to countries that have high cases and death.  Thailand hasn't implemented an innovating new idea.  It's happened / happening elsewhere, it could happen here.

One big difference is welfare.  People in developed nations were given government money to feed themselves and put a roof over their head. In general, this meant they could stay home and isolate.  In Thailand, you get nothing, so what do you do, go to work, or go looking for work.  You can't stay home and isolate because you have to feed yourself.  This furthers the spread.

Thailand has done many things different, imposed a strictly controlled quarantine upon arrival, many many countries have not done this.

Slowing the spread will reduce the numbers, right?

Many countries shut their borders, and quarantined their returning citizens or permanent residents, and locked down work places and places where people gather.  It was not a new idea thought up by the Thai government.

What about all those plane loads of Chinese still allowed to holiday here, AFTER the virus was discovered, some planes even from Wuhan?

A lot of the countries you talk about was isolation at home of which they had no real control.

The flights allowed from Wuhan was an error, correct, which is why the robust state controlled quarantine was put in effect, right?

You said, "strictly controlled quarantine upon arrival."

Many countries done this, way before Thailand, and continue to do so.

Thailand hasn't done anything innovative to fight covid.

Of concern to the tourism industry, and businesses relying on tourism, is the lack of policy and information around vaccinating the Thai population.  I dare say, the lack of funding for this, also.

Tourism can not start to rebuild here until a large portion of the population is vaccinated, particularly as many tourist areas attract workers from other provinces, who often return home to their province.

This is a repeat of your last post but with more waffle.

Workers in tourist areas typically go home for new year only ( some for songkran as well ) fyi.

They return home for many reasons, not just Songkran.  Seeing their kids, weddings, births, illnesses and injuries to family members etc.

We all know how the police department functions here.  We are about to find out how good Pattaya / Thailand's contact tracers are at finding people.
