A Russian Diver Was Safely Transferred To Hospital By Helicopter After An Accident Near The Similan Islands.

A Russian diver was bitten by an Eel at Similans Islands while diving from a yacht called Newcastle Explorer, chartered by Seal Superyachts Asia based in Phuket. Mr. Rustem Telgulov, aged 43, was rescued by a Royal Thai Navy 3rd fleet helicopter and taken to Bangkok Hospital Phuket yesterday May 9th after the accident while diving near Ko Miang of the Similan Islands, in Phang Nga. According to a source, the Royal Thai Navy 3rd fleet received a report from a yacht named Newcastle Explorer asking for help to take the injured man to the mainland. A helicopter was sent by the order of Vice Admiral Supoj Preuksa, of the Royal Thai Navy 3rd Fleet to rescue him with first aid because the injured was reported to have fainted after losing too much blood. He is now recovering in Bangkok Hospital Phuket.
