A Dream Within a Dream- Audi's Flagship R 8 seen in Isaan for only 18,999,000 baht

Yesterday I heard a fantastic roaring sound and saw an Audi. After some research, I figured out what kind of Audi it was and that in deepest Isaan?

If you want to buy one here, it's only a 3,799,800 baht down payment, and monthly rates of 261, 637 baht. Of course affordable to all TVF members.

         https://th.priceprice.com/Audi-R8-7949/#:~:text=Audi R8 รุ่นล่าสุด,แรกที่เอาชนะ Porche 997

  Some amazing data:

The ten-cylinder engine draws from 5,204 cm3 (0.184 cu ft) of displacement. Its specific output in the top-of-the-line version is 119.1 metric horsepower per liter. Each unit of metric horsepower has to move a weight of only 2.57 kilograms (5.7 lb) because the curb weight of the Audi R8 Coupé V10 performance quattro is just 1,595 kilograms (3,516.4 lb). The Spyder V10 performance quattro weighs
1,695 kilograms (3,736.8 lb) empty and 1,587 kilograms (3,498.7 lb) dry. This results in explosive performance figures: The fastest volume-production Audi of all time catapults itself from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 3.1 seconds, and from 0 to 200 km/h (124.3 mph) in 9.8 seconds. Its top speed is 331 km/h (205.7 mph). The R8 Coupé V10 quattro accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 3.4 seconds and keeps achieves a top speed of 324 km/h (201.3 mph). The values for the Spyder are 3.2 and 3.5 seconds, respectively, and 329/322 km/h (204.4/200.1 mph).

Now get back to what you were doing before and keep on dreaming. ????

P.S. The original website with press information as a PDF file that can't be uploaded here.Press-Information_Audi_R8 - Copy.pdf

Added price list.

  • So you get a car which is quick enough to earn you a speeding ticket in not more than 3.1 seconds. Great! I hope a brain is included in this offer.

  • I doubt that people who buy such cars in TH think about gasoline prices..

  • I'll have to count up my Green Shield Stamps......

May I remind you that it wasn't mine? That's not a car for Thailand, such cars want a German Autobahn without limits. 300 km/h + and the tunnel view must be awesome.

A classmate of mine had one of those, the first one in Thailand with matt paint if i remember correctly.

He didn't use it often, just as his other supercars, as going through Bangkok was quite expensive (they cost a lot in gasoline standing in a traffic jam).

A <deleted>ty little car with no space inside, and you have to crawl into it! I prefer the kind of cars were you must climb up to get into them:)

I didn't know it was you, I'll wave next time.

If I remember correctly that will be last car made with a real engine i.e. a V10 naturally aspirated lump

Yes, fuel price is a really big concern on an 18m vehicle...

I choose a Q8 any day over this . Don't get me wrong it's quit nice the R8 but not for here in Thailand .

Do you have to put air in the tyres yourself or do they provide someone to do it for you at PTT.

He was 23, daddy bought the car.

Must take an eternity to shoehorn the buffalo , chicken and relatives in.

Does it have the ' Tardis ' interior as optional.

As long as the plates are sprayed white like I see in CM then run as fast till your heart desires. No one will know it's you. Actually I still don't see the purpose of a semi racecar here as in the end this fallacy doesn't make my special tool any longer or harder. But I do love Audi.

The cost in Thailand for the Audi R8 is 18,999,000 thb.

The price in the EU for the same car is 234,720 Euros, or in Thai Baht 642,875 at an exchange rate of 27,5344.

More than 3 times the price, but that includes import taxes plus VAT on the total bill.

It does NOT include the contents of any brown envelopes used.

If you have to ask how much it costs...

What would brown envelopes be used for?

I always thought it better looking than Ferrari or Lambo. But that was when the grill was oval, not angular. Yes, the sound is great. I'm in favor of car porn. Others may like outrageous houses or boats. Others may just prefer to stay home in a studio apartment and watch TV.  Different strokes for different blokes.

I say go for it. What do you care what others think? People who criticize what others do (as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else) should stick to their own knitting, as the saying goes. Or <deleted> off as others would say.

I totally agree with your sentiment "elgenon", but I think with a car that fast you are very likely to hurt others and maybe even yourelf......

Particularly in the wallet! .....Or maybe Worse?????

You must have mixed a few things up. 234,720 Euros is currently 8, 506,850.20 Thai baht using the current exchange rate of 36.25470 baht.

:sorry:

Another aid to Thai boy racer suicide.  Let's hope that the morons who buy this type of car don't kill anyone else when they inevitably total it.

Since when does 'rich' equate into moron?

To wit - some people shuffle by on $1 million a month, some have to do with THB 1 million a month - some people buy Audi's, some have to do with Toyota's.

See  - you can learn something on TVF even on an ordinary Sunday..............lol

Sorry, my finger ran away with itself. Nobody said anything about being rich, that is irrelevant .  No Thais are trained to ride a bike, let alone drive a high powered car. The result is often a massive crash and death.
