Anybody Know Of An Extension, Add-on Or File Manager That Can Do This?

Featured Replies

I have a number of files in MS Word format that are quotations. Unfortunately when I first started creating them I just saved them by number, e.g. 04-001, but later realized it would be nice to know who and what they are for, so at a later point I started saving them with number, name, and item, e.g. 04-0100 Doe Gadget A. I still have a lot of the documents with the old naming format. I would like to switch them over, but that involves opening the doc, glancing at the name and item, closing the document, and then using the rename function to change the file name. I am wondering if there is an easier way to do this, either using Word, or an extension, add-on, file manager, different method, or whatever!

try Unidream Power Batch. It's free.

It works mainly for photos, but can be used to batch-rename any other file types as well.
