SAMUT SAKHON (NNT) - Samut Sakhon has added its eighth and largest field hospital yet, a 1,000-bed facility located at Wattana Factory.

Deputy governors of Samut Sakhon, Theerapat Kachamat and Surasak Ponyangsong received the Sakhon Care Center, which occupies a portion of the 108 rai plot of Wattana Factory, the site of the third field hospital in the province, which was able to accommodate 240 beds.

The new hospital extends the third to a total of eight rai and encompasses two single-story buildings with a capacity of 1,000 beds.

A separate facility on the plot has been set aside for medical workers with computerized patient controls and up-to-date sanitation. Another recreational space has been provided for patients. The 22-million-baht facility was erected in 22 days.

Deputy Governor Theerapat said the field hospital is the largest in the country to date and lauded its readiness to serve patients.

The province is confident that its eight field hospitals, which form a Factory Quarantine, will be sufficient to handle the potential number of patients uncovered by proactive testing.
