There have been two studies that announced they had definitely isolated/purified the cov' virus. One in China on Jan 7th 2020, and in Feb 2020 in a lab in Korea.

Upon further, and intense scrutiny, it was found that the sequencing had been partly done by a computer. Furthermore, the labs did not apply the Koch Postulate criteria.

Why are the vaccine lab's keen to stress that having the jab does not give future immunity?

Worth remembering that these lab's are under pressure to produce results from the funders. Corners are cut, mistakes made and untruths told.

I will fact-check the links you posted and get back to you.

No need - i know they're correct - that was why I chose reputable sources from various countries, but if you've nothing better to do, knock yourself out!

I know of two of these studies.

They say the virus has been isolated, but they have pieced together fragments. This is not purification as I know it.

We must agree to differ. Are or were you professionally involved  in this area? I'm not...but just wondering

Once covid-19 has been completed eradicated, Pattaya's 'family resort' will return back to its glory days.

Trust you don't mind waiting several years.

Yup, for sure. After the Tsunami, they said Patong would never be the same and they were right; it took no time to recover and then some!

But it is disheartening to see people lose their livelihoods nonetheless.

Falang keeping the city going?

is that why 80 percent of the business are closed?

nothing there but old broke cheap Charlie’s, that why they want the Chinese back!

Sorry to burst your bubble Ron, but I and my friends are not cheap Charlie's, the reason businesses are closed is because they were catering to tourists with ridiculous prices, no tourists = 0 cash, simple really.

They didn't save for a rainy day, as we from the other side of the world would. They never had a rainy day till now.

There was an item on a very large seafood restaurant on the right as you enter Walking street, I went there maybe 15 years ago with a mate who lived here, he warned me about their stupid lobster prices etc so we had something modest, but I heard some of the bill prices being asked for from a tourist family, would make your hair curl.

And now 15 years after I first went they are broke and want the government to bail them out, don't make me laugh. ????????????

The bars will mushroom after COVID very quickly because it does not cost a lot to start one. Few used chairs, tvs and tables and a bit of booze and off you go, 200 000 baht or even less. But it will look more shanty town. Back to the roots, Pattaya!

It’s not like a few years for a full rebound will make much difference with those in the entertainment industry.  Lately there seemed to be no retirement age anyhow.

as for the city returning ...think Phuket and neighboring islands after the tsunami.   It come back to its former messy glory

The amount of tax revenue on liquor sales is enormous.  Trust me. The thai government wants the entertainment industry back.  Plus all the wave flagging groups of tourists

Rather than enhancing the economy of Isaan, all the returning nieces, cousins and adult grandchildren will now become a burden on the farang pensioners with their local wives.   Considering the amount of shade many of these posters like to cast on places like Pattaya and Phuket perhaps it's karma.

You know Old  Croc i totally agree with you because i have one lazy step daughter already back She sleeps all day and does nothing around the house So yeah you are right

in most countries, I don't get approached by someone wanting sex for money.......maybe once in a few decades!!!

here.....at least every 10 minutes.......everyone.   everyone.  it's an everyday thing, no question

you see it everyday

everyday

every store there might be a lady who says "hi" and then later asks for money for sex.

Decades vs every 10 minutes.  You must be quite the ladies man here.

perhaps back in most other miserable  countries a lack of that pesky annoyance will make taking a stroll so much easier.  Amazing that Pornhub is alive there but not needed here.

Hey but within 12 months the cables of walking-street will be put under the ground ???? cheer up.

Just a matter of interest, hotels in Chiang Mai were selling up large in 2018,reason quoted in the BK Post was that most guest Houses, Hotels were unlicensed. I left End of January 2020, my Hotel I stayed at for many years in soi 9 moon muang was closed and had been bought by Chinese, they were extending it into the vacant space surrounding it. I walked around the close by sois and all of the guest houses now had Chinese signs, I walked up to Taipei gate and to the Red light soi, most bars were shut and some were now Chinese money exchanges, the place totally going Chinese.

I did a border run to Tachilek to see an old buddy, they call him Slim, he speaks like a Kiwi as he worked for one for years in Myanmar some of you may have met him.

Slim took me on a tour, the main Rd had gold shops and money exchanges and there was a big new casino and Hotel which he said all the guides take girls to.

The place has gone Chinese big time.

Maybe investors had wind of change b4 covid.

The Thai government introduced laws to make ownership of small guesthouses and Hotels harder then.

I think Walking St will become a totally Chinese tourist venue, they probably have snapped up the cheap property already, they can afford to land bank.

I think that once the dust settles you will see a new bar area evolve and you probably will not want to go near Walking St, I couldn't tolerate the place more than a hour or two, but it was a bit of fun now and again.

Hua Hin is just across the bay and look how they are faring.

Actually I have little idea how they are doing, but thought it was worse than Pattaya. Yes I could look in the specific forum but I fear turning to stone with my finger on the mouse as if I had looked at the head of Medussa.

I was living there b4 going back to NZ for Xmas, I was close to Smorprong, there was a bar circuit which went around the block, my Thai wife does not get much news but said most of them mainly shop bars were closed.

They use to call one of them God's Waiting Room.

I heard Mike had taken Passport back after selling it to a French man.

He would survive as he is next to Thippawan.

I have no idea about Bindabart, or Soi 80,I think limelight is still open, maybe supported by the expat golfer's.

The big beer market down past the train station is probably thriving as it had a huge Thai attendance.

My wife's friend offered her a bar and car wash up at the Niko temple area, its a great spot heaps of golfers used to go there but it's, very quiet now.

My wife's mother has traded at most markets in Huahin she is at Dinosaur, and says that its slower but ok and covid 19 does not seem bad.

But no Falangs anywhere.

Anyone know what is happening with soi 80 ect, thank you.

His tenants were all people who worked in the entertainment industry and they have just gone home to save money.

Don't worry, when the vaccine is rolled out all the "entertainment" will be back to open-up as normal.

Virtually every family in my village - and surrounding villages - are up to their neck in debt. There are 'hot sales' everywhere. The poor are desperate. And there is little in the present situation that gives hope for the near future. These messages from TIT and TAT are worthless bits of exhaled air, and by-and-large are not even registering with the millions of Isaan Thais anyway.

Yes, for most of us, we have not quite realized  how bad things are in Isaan , it's only people like yourself , who live there, that see this, it seems to me ,to have dropped back to what it was like 40 years ago, when I first visited Isaan , which then, the poor were quite desperate in those early days.   Regards,,,, Popa

Some things to consider and a question, what does your government say?

If I get vaccinated:

1.      Can I stop wearing the mask?
A government Response - No

2.      Can they reopen restaurants, pubs, bars etc and everyone work normally?
A government Response - No

3.      Will I be resistant to covid?
A government Response - Maybe, but we don't know exactly, it probably won't stop you getting it

4.      At least I won't be contagious to others anymore?
A government Response - No you can still pass it on, possibly, nobody knows.

5.      If we vaccinate all children, will school resume normally?
A government Response - No

6.      If I am vaccinated, can I stop social distancing?
A government Response – No

7.      If I am vaccinated, can I stop disinfecting my hands?
A government Response – No

8.      If I vaccinate myself and my grandfather, can we hug each other?
 A government Response - No

9.      Will cinemas, theaters and stadiums be reopened thanks to vaccines?
A government Response - No

10.  Will the vaccinated be able to gather?
A government Response - No

11.  What is the real benefit of vaccination?
A government Response - The virus won't kill you.

12.  Are you sure it won't kill me?
A government Response - No

13.  If statistically the virus won't kill me anyway ... Why would I get vaccinated?"
A government Response - To protect others.

14.  So if I get vaccinated, the others are 100% sure I'm not infecting them?
A government Response - No

your post sums up the reality....if lucky a vaccine will make the symptoms less severe, that's all,but for some that will be enough of a safeguard.
