This is quite interesting and sort of proves my point, ....if I had actually had one from the beginning...which I DID.... It seems, from what you report, that 2nd-Generation Chinese have no love or allegience to the Motherland, China. This might seem strange for American citizens who, in almost all cases, despite presidents such as Trump, retain Love of Country..... Do you regard yourself as Chinese? Or, perhaps you are playing the Long Game....... China sends people like you to far-away worlds, such as Africa, South America, North America, etc.... And then...... You become "sleepers" who pretend to not have any allegiance outside of your adopted countries....and then...... Maybe someday soon..... You all stand up and TAKE OVER THE WORLD....... I often think about this potential. Think of all the millions of Chinese restaurants around the world, for example. This prospect does not worry me much though, of course. I am waiting for the Chinese Takeover of the World, and have been, anyway, for many years. Have you ever read the great book by Edgar Snow? I loved that book. But, concerning this Topic, I do worry about Chinese Parents who are not sufficiently informed about the realities of the USA, who truly do seem just too naieve and trusting with their daughters, and boys, too, as they seek a better life, and a better education, at schools like Yale and Harvard.
