Thailand reported 175 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday.

However, the vast majority of the new cases were discovered during testing of migrant workers at quarantine facilities and hospitals in Samut Sakhon.

Of the new cases, 168 local transmissions, while 7 were imported from people entering quarantine.

Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) also reported 134 people had been discharged from hospital having made a full recovery.

1,182 people remain in hospital or held in a migrant worker quarantine centre.

Wednesday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand to 24,961, with 82 deaths.

Yeah, yeah, dirty foreigners again

Richard Barrow posted on Twitter (this morning or last night) that 2 foreigners tested positive for Covid-19 after going to get a "Safe to Fly" certificate. Apparently they showed no symptoms and they had travelled extensively the last few days.

That's odd, as Richard Wheelbarrow was reporting that more than 50% of today's cases were found outside of Samut Sakhon.

175 out of how many? Test size and populations tested would give us at least a rough idea of how widespread the virus is, if done properly. Not going to hold my breath, except when in a lift.

Victoria, Australia shut down for 5 days. Can't quite remember how many tests but around 120,00 since Sunday before last. Popuation 6.3 million. Take into account multiple tests on individuals so they are as sure as they can be.

Yea, that shouldn’t be let go because the person who said it still holds his position as the health minister.

Of course - what do you expect, that's the only people their testing ! Thailand is the only nation separating infections into migrants and nationals

And there are very good health reasons for the distinction to be made.

There are other countries doing this, actually. Primarily in Asia where the most xenophobic cultures live.

If you look at stories from the region, you'll see similar. China definitely has been doing this early on, blaming everyone but then selves.

Other Chinese derivative countries around southeast Asia followed suit.

It's pretty pathetic, but it's how they like to live here.

The US also knows exactly which races are getting more affected by covid. I bet you have no problem with that though.

WITHOUT A VACCINE WELL I NEVER!!

2 negative swabs over 24 hours is enough to 'recover'. Most are asymptomatic, so one can assume they are just waiting it out. The problem is that their antibodies will be low, and they risk reinfection.
