Has nothing to do with good or bad, has to do with telling the truth of the current 2021 situation. While living in Thailand is slowly getting worse, living in a western country is quickly getting worse .... to the extent of many being locked in their homes. Thailand during COVID in 2021 is far better than any other country I would be allowed to easily enter IMHO. Still waiting for you to post some photos of the great places you are eating/sitting/relaxing and communing with nature. Popular Post newnative
Been here 10 years and counting, still loving it. Wish I could travel internationally but since I can't my partner and I have been exploring Thailand and have enjoyed the places we have visited. Still a lot of areas we have not been to. Property prices allow us to have a beachfront condo in Pattaya and a getaway place in Bangkok--we couldn't afford that in the US. Love the year-round nice weather here and I don't hibernate in the winter like I used to do in the cold American winters. Like waking up to sunshine most days of the year. As another mentioned, when it rains here it's often fast and hard for a few hours and it's done--not days of dreary drizzle. Right now, traffic is much easier, a plus. Pattaya Beach and the promenade have a more relaxed atmosphere now--quieter with the speedboats and tour buses gone--and more peaceful and laid back. Many places are closed but many are also still open--especially if you get away from the tourist areas. As I mentioned in another post, my partner and I are also venturing to the Darkside and are discovering it's a whole other world over there--with new scenery, new restaurants to try out, new markets and shops, and new recreational opportunities with things like the Mabprachan Lake bike path. Life is good.

No, I'm from the UK and do hold a bank account there, but I want to keep my Thai Baht at a minimum with only enough for living expenses. but sometimes I have more Baht than I want to keep in this country. Possum is the nickname of my favourite country music singer George Jones. Edited February 20, 2021 by possum1931

Think your pushing it with thai "drivers" they are more like operators, as majority have had no formal training, test is a joke, and the highway code is something other countries have. "A good driver is anyone who understands that all road users have a responsibility to each other to obey the law and the rules of the road. It is anyone who is unselfish, and who respects the rights of others." Now that certainly doent apply ????????????

We are less than <10 minutes from the beach and Florida has a lot of excellent beaches with surfing, surf fishing, shell collecting, walking or whatever it is you want to do at the beach. All along the coast there are tons of Seafood restaurants, Tiki Bars, you name it. Major cruise ship terminal 40 minutes away that cruise all over the Caribbean. Mexico, South America We can also watch all the Space X liftoffs from the beach. Beaches had life guards much like Australia as you can see. Florida is an international tourist spot as well.

How many good Thai restaurants could I eat a meal in for the price ( tip included ) of one meal in the place in the first photo? I'll bet it's more than a few. Most western women I know get offended if one looks at them for more than a millisecond, and while the ones in the photos may look attractive, IMO they are not as feminine as the average Thai girl.
