Seventy tourists from Bali, Indonesia will be arriving in Phuket today under what has been termed "Organizational Quarantine".

There are some caveats but the bottom line is that it is still 14 day quarantine with nearly all the Covid 19 restrictions in place.

The tourists will be staying at the luxury Sri Panwa Resort that has pool villas.

Deputy governor of Phuket Phichet Panapong met with security officials and medical staff to discuss arrangements for the group that Manager said was Phuket's first after requests were made by Sri Panwa.

Rather than alternative state quarantine or alternative local state quarantine - ASQ and ALSQ - this is now billed as Organization Quarantine OQ, Area Quarantine AQ or Villa Quarantine.

It involves the creation of an "inner core" or "in-bubble".

Under certain conditions and following standard operating procedures outsiders would be allowed to interact with the tourists.

Masks and protective gear would have to be worn, for example.

Manager referred to the group that is set to arrive as tourists though the language of the quarantine suggested they were all members of an organization.

Strange that the majority of the villas are privately owned and not part of the Hotel itself, brown envelopes and persons of influence again ?

Of course. How else can I afford to life in such a non corrupt democratic society ?

Somchai should be round with the newspaper for ironing and the donations to my inner temple by 8am I hope.

Mix people who should be under quarantine, with people who are in quarantine, with people who have quarantined and with the local un-vaccinated population.

I would say a recipe for problems.

That obviously would include staff who work there then return home to mix with family & friends after the shift ends... playing with fire.
