Former PDRC leaders released on bail

BANGKOK (NNT) - All eight leaders of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) have been allowed bail and have been released after spending two days in detainment following a guilty ruling over their protest against the administration of Yingluck Shinawatra between 2013 and 2014.

 

The eight have been allowed temporary leave from prison after they showed up to all hearings while their case was in the civil court and due to the penalties not being severe. Each was granted bail of 800,00 baht and ordered not to leave the Kingdom without court permission.

 

Suthep Tuagsuban, Chumpol Julsai, Buddhipongse Punnakanta, Issara Somchai, Thaworn Senneam, Nataphol Teepsuwan, Suwit Thongprasert and Samdin Lertbutr left detainment in white shirts and navy blue shorts. They were received by a crowd that had gathered earlier.

 

Suthep stated that all of the former PDRC leaders remain firm in their belief in, and respect for the legal process, while lamenting the plight of those who were relieved of their Cabinet posts due to the development. The eight intend to collect further evidence and submit an appeal against the ruling.

 

Nataphol said he regretted his loss of opportunity to continue political work and acknowledged the impact on the Phalang Pracharat Party but accepted the court ruling.

Come on, how many potatoes did they manage to peel in two days???

And that is probably the last thing we hear or read about this. That´s all folks! Nothing more to see.

I was stuck in a waiting room yesterday and has the displeasure of watching this release live on TV.

Crowd of lackeys welcoming them out to a heroes welcome, complete with bunches of roses. One of those released was snivelling like a child in the background behind Suthep. Obviously traumatized from his 2 nights in VIP jail.

 

All in all, a pathetic reflection on the Thai ‘establishment’.

Had any one taken the time to read what the charges are before ranting about insurgents etc., or would that be too much to take in and contemplate?
