Island Beach Snorkelling - Where To Keep Stuff

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm planning to go snorkelling with one of the day tours to the islands near Phuket this June (Coral Island, Phi Phi and Khai Nok).

Since we will be stopping by the islands and there'll be some magnificent sights I plan to bring a camera.

But are there any safe place to keep my camera when I go snorkelling near the shore of the beach?

Or maybe there are stall owners which we can pass it to for safe keeping? With a tip of course

If you are going with a day tour I would guess you just leave it with your tour guide.

No problem bringing camera with you. We have gone on several of those day trips and almost everyone onboard has a camera with them. When snorkeling directly off the boat it was of course safe to just leave camera onboard the boat. When the boat pulled in to shore we either gave it to the tour guide on boat to hold for us or brought it on shore with us and asked one of the other tour group members that was not going in the water to hold for us while we were snorkeling.

people have been going on snorkel trips with tours for years 99.9% are reputable ,just leave it with the guide its not a problem :o

Get yourself a dry bag from a dive or sports shop. Simply put your belongings in the bag and drag it round with you while you snorkel. Only cheap and well worth the money if you are going anywhere near water, Enjoy!!
