Thailand reported 119 new COVID-19 infections on Saturday.

Of the new cases, 112 were local transmissions, while 7 were imported from people entering quarantine.

A further 62 people were discharged from hospital having made a full recovery.

1,111 people remain in hospital or held in a migrant worker quarantine centre.

Most of the cases originated from Samut Sakhon and Bangkok, the location of a new cluster of cases linked to Bang Khae Market.

Saturday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand to 27,713 with 90 deaths.

So they find covid in BKK area, only place where tested even few people.

????

So the Myanmar people who got covid in quarantine have not made the figures 3 days in a row. The numbers are obviously NOT TRUE.

That just goes to show that it is here and will travel as well.  Of course only testing on a limited basis to show that it is still okay to allow travel for the Non Wet/Powder Songkran 6 days by this government just makes me worry that much more.  It is unfortunately all about money over health I fear.

Just saw that of the 119 cases the following Area's had cases, and I am not sure if the they have had any before. Those area's were Ayutthaya (3),Nakhon Pathom (1), Suphan Buri (1), and Yasothon (1).

38 new cases in Bangkok today, of which 31 are Thais. The experts told us that we didn't have to worry too much about the Samut Sakhon outbreak because it involved mostly foreign workers, who don't travel around Thailand and tend to stay where they are. Fair enough, but now that 80% of new cases involve Thai people, and the numbers in Bangkok seem to be rising quite sharply, what are the experts going to do about it? The only sensible option I can see is to put Bangkok back in red zone status until they can get it under control, but with all the talk about still holding Songkran and cutting quarantine, it seems that sense has flown out of the window in both Government House and the CCSA.

What they are going to do is try and get back to normal because the vaccines are here and has converted covid to the common cold no restrictions are needed just get back to normal.

I firmly believe, that right from the first Day Covid was found on Thai soil, its all been about Money.

The vaccines are not 'here'.  Not in Thailand in any useful numbers.   They aren't even sure they will have health care workers vaccinated by September--a long way off.

It will take a while for the vaccines to be administered so there will be a need for care until then at least. Even then there may be issues with new variants so whilst we should get to a stage where it can be controlled with vaccines in a similar way to flu I doubt we are there yet.

It's true that deaths are very low but that could partly be due to the precautions taken which is the opposite of the way road safety is approached. We all want to get back to normal but equally we don't want to have to return to stricter measures.

Of course the vaccines are here haven't you been watching the media? It's all about the vaccines being here and being on their way and travelling right beside the vaccines is the old normal and they're not far off.

Vaccines may be here (has anyone actually seen or heard of anyone getting an AZ vaccine?)...but Thailand is still ranks as the worst performing country in Asean (Singapore not included as the are so advanced, you cannot view the other countries).

Fail.

I had AZ earlier this week. My wife and son had it three weeks ago. All in the U.K.

Friends around the same age are all having AZ too. My Dad and my mother in law had Pfizer.
