CMU declares itself first 5G powered University in ASEAN

CHIANG MAI (NNT) - Chiang Mai University and Huawei Technology, have together signed an MOU - "5G Powered Smart University Enabled with Cloud and AI” - making the institution the first to be 5G Powered in ASEAN.

 

Chiang Mai University’s Chancellor, Doctor Niwet Nantajit and Mr. Abel Deng, CEO of Huawei Thailand signed the MOU to develop the 5G system in the university in order to facilitate learning ability in classrooms, and research capacity. The system also includes Big Data and a cloud service that offers rapid transfer using 5G speed, helping the authorities in the university work more smoothly and more efficiently.

 

According to the chancellor, Chiang Mai University has always aimed to be the top digital university in the ASEAN region and a leader in higher education that enhances technology and skills outside the classroom that are of benefit in many ways.

 

Meanwhile, Emeritus Professor Doctor Kasem Wattanachai Director of Chiang Mai University Council revealed that CMU has always regarded its technological capabilities as being the key to development in this era. 5G is considered the fastest and most reliable internet system able to connect the institution to the region and the world.

I   wouldn't trust Huawai any further than I could spit into a strong wind.

Compared to lots of other things in LOS, CMU is pretty damn good.  Most of the students are a step above (if not miles), campus is nice.  Superb lettuce at Royal Project (not the outdoor market).
