Insurance requirements for TV

Featured Replies

Hi guys! Planning to get there by the end of April, if everything works fine. My questions, few from many, are: 1. the insurance I got from Dhipaya Thailand  covers only medical costs for Covid19 issues, nothing else. Is that okay for Visa, COE and immigration? My travel insurance covers for emergency medical expenses, though. 2. What should be the lenght of insurance? The lenght of stay, the lenght of visa, or what? I asked this to the embassy, NOTHING back... Tried to call them, no chance either. I'm vaccinated, and have no idea if I have to book for 15 nights quarantine, or 10, or 7.... Thank you!

You only need the $100,000 coverage for covid 19.

The covid 19 insurance must be valid for the length of stay you will get when entering the country with a visa or re-entry permit or 45 days if visa exempt.

Whether the quarantine is 14 or 10 days depends upon the country you are traveling from. Basically if there has been no covid 19 variant infections it will be 10 days.

The 7 days has not started yet and that will only be if you have been vaccinated.

Don't worry too much about your quarantine reservations, If it is reduced to 10 days or for vaccinated  people at certain areas  7 days , the hotel will issued you a refund for the days you did not use.  Notice the section I sniped from the below offal announcement

Thank you much! I thouhgt it would be a smooth process, but looks like the more I read, the clueless I become.... There is no official information at all. I asked the consulate here in Houston, they told me I need to book the ASQ and flights before I get the visa, which I already did through Agoda, hope hat will be okay with the DC embassy....

Thank you! Little weird that DC embassy is asking for ASQ booking and flight for visa, but the COE (that should be done after you get the visa) says:

"Once approved

    • Applicant finds and books a flight and Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) within 15 days"

The decision became official only yesterday,  and they did not have time to change all their websites yet,

In the DC embassy's FB page they posted  yesterday (see picture below). But keep an eye on things because it was reported today, that a decision has been made for a redaction  of the quarantine to 7 days for those vaccinated in certain areas,

see link below . So the Embassies are playing catch up also.
