PHUKET:-- Phuket International Airport has begun preparations to receive overseas visitors as the island strives to reinvigorate its tourism industry following the government’s confirmation of relaxed quarantine conditions, effective today (Apr 1).

Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew and Vice Governor Pichet Pananpong visited the X terminal today to oversee the extensive vaccination process of all staff, mandatory to install confidence to all overseas visitors.

Additionally, it was confirmed yesterday (Mar 31) that two flights from Germany will be arriving on the island this and next month as part of the international terminal’s “reopening”.

So one flight from Germany this month and one next month.  Is that for tourists? if so what's that passenger wise, maybe 600? if the plane is full?  How many other airlines have ramped up in short notice and started selling seats?  This will either bee a boom or a bust.  The best made plans of mice and men sometimes go awry.

Both Qatar and Emirates have loaded direct flights from their Middle East hubs to Phuket beginning July 1. That obviously coincides with Phuket's plan to allow vaccinated tourists to skip quarantine beginning on July 1.

It also coincides with monsoon season ????????????

Phuket Airport prepares for international visitors............with a new batch of previously untried scams

Just a small question, can the tourist who are released from quarantine in Phuket travel anywhere in Thailand? If so shouldn't we all get vaccines in a hurry?

Well,  for now it is costly to get back into Canada from anywhere abroad.  I have to wait until the conditions are

much better before getting excited about travelling outside of Canada.   Right now most Provinces do not want people

from other provinces to come for a visit.  In fact Ontario is doing a one month lock down because the numbers are

rising again.   In Alberta, we may have to get more restrictions if the numbers cannot be kept low.  Unfortunately, there are

still groups of the younger people from late teens to their 40s who just do not take this pandemic seriously. Groups of

people still gather in large numbers and party without masking up and being cautious.   Yes, it has been a long year, and now a lot of us

realize,  a tiny bit,  of how people in jails feel without being able to freely travel where they used to.

I will be a happy guy, when the majority of countries have the majority of their population vaccinated. Stay safe and healthy.

Geezer

If you run short on vaccines maybe we can send you over some Chinese ones? I am sure we will have plenty of left overs.
